I had gotten a travel system made by babies r us but DH hates it so I returned it. He likes this baby trend jogging stroller travel system I looked at the reviews and the safety ratings were great but the user reviews not so great. I was wondering if y'all have used them or heard anything about them?
I have no experience with this stroller (obviously, as this is my first kid lol), but I noticed that the product weight is 49 pounds...is that for both items combined? Even so, that seems like pretty heavy equipment to lug around (unless that number includes the weight of the carseat base?). Are you able to look at each item separately to see how much they weigh? I feel like you're not going to want to lift a heavy stroller out of your car all the time!
Which one had you picked out that he doesn't like?
I have a Baby Trend jogging stroller but not the travel system. My stroller looks very similar to the one in the picture. While I love the stroller, I only use it when I walk the neighborhood. I would not want to use it inside of a store. It is pretty bulky and does not turn well. HOWEVER, I read the description on this one and it specifically says that it has a pivoting wheel for use inside of stores, but you can lock it for jogging. Mine does not have this feature and I think that does make a big difference.
I think it is all going to depend on what you need it for the most. I personally am not a jogger and mainly use my stroller for shopping. I prefer my regular stroller (Chicco Keyfit) because it is smaller, folds up easier, protects baby from the elements more, and has more storage up top and underneath. I only got the jogging stroller to use to push my 3 year old around the neighborhood to get exercise while pregnant. Hope that helped you a little.
If you're using it for everyday use a few things I was told to look at - weight (can you juggle it well with everything else when you're solo) and will it fold up small enough to fit in your vehicle and how easily it breaks down (can you do it one handed?). If its just for daily use this one might be overkill. Its something I would check out in-person to make use you like the feel, weight, movement of, etc. My husband and I went with the BOB Revolution because it pivots well, is lighter weight than most of the jogger type strollers (25 pounds) and breaks down small enough that it would fit in my car. But mainly because we do so many outdoor activities. If it wasn't for out much time we spend outdoors I would have went with one of standard Chicco or Graco systems.
I would say the most important factors for me, are of course, safety ratings, but also how well it fits in your vehicle. There is nothing worse than trying to shove 300 dollars worth of groceries into your car and around a big ol' stroller. LOL. We have the Chicco Keyfit Cortina, andit easily opens up and closes, so much so that I can do so with one hand, and it isn't huge.
I have a Baby Trend jogging stroller, just a slightly different style than this. It looks like there's a red button on the handle-is that to fold it up? Mine has two loops you pull on each side to fold it. I love my stroller. When I have to get only a few things from the store I just use this because it is so easy to maneuver and it is slim. I also have no problem lifting it in and out of my trunk. I do have a minivan, so I'm not sure how it would fit in a car trunk. However, it folds up well and the wheels pivot sideways to make it fit easier. It didn't come with an air pump, so just make sure you have one to fill the tires if necessary. It is also very simple to switch to jogging mode with the pull of a lever and then you just push a bottom near the handle to switch the front wheel back to swivel-mode.
Thank you everyone! There is a red button to fold it up one handed, I think the weight is both stroller and car seat, my DH wants it to go jogging with and to take it "off roading" lol...we both have full size trucks he has an 04 ford f-250 extended cab and I have an 06 dodge ram 1500 4 door cab so I think we are good on room. My DH will use it most since I'm trying a couple baby wearing options. This is the travel system I chose that DH hated with a passion...Babies R Us Pioneer Travel System Stroller - Mirage - Babies R Us - Babies "R" Us
Well if he is jogging or off-roading a regular stroller probably won't work well. That was the determining factor in us going with the BOB. So he might have a point. The one you just posted would be great for malls, sidewalks, and what most would do for everyday use. But not great for dirt and off-roading. Plus if DH is tall and jogging he would probably keep kicking and tripping on a standard stroller. So you will probably have to go with a jogging type stroller.
