I have one of the free pillows that Jamie was talking about, and then one of my friends is giving me her Boppy to try (I'm okay with using her used one, since I know/trust her and don't think she has cooties ). Obviously I'm not sure how I will like them, but like I said before, if nothing else they will be a good prop for baby during tummy time!
I actually made myself one with my limited sewing skills
1 yard of flannel on sale - $2.95
24 oz soft pollyfill - $8.99
1 yard of cottonfabric for cover - $5.95
Total ~$18.00 Not bad as I stuffed it pretty tight so it wont go flat soon Plus I made it kind of custom size so that its snug arounf my waist
I got a used one from a friend... If I hadn't gotten one for free, it wouldn't be high on the list of "must haves" because you could use a pillow in a pinch. There are a lot of things that babies "need" but really a lot seem like conveniences.
I still have mine from my daughter, and it didn't go flat at all. It is weird because all the other old Boppy's I've seen are really flat. I guess I got a super puffy one. I found when she was really little the Boppy on it's own was not enough, but good in combination with another pillow.
