I've been getting worried because (TMI) when I wipe it feels a little different? But that might just be extra discharge. I think I would freak if I saw the whole thing come out

I was wondering when someone would post about mucus plugs. I lost mine this past week. I lost it with Sawyer early too though.

Nope. I never saw mine the first time around, though, so as far as I am concerned they're just a myth anyway.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...you're freaking out the first timer. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen until later. Like WAY later.

I am pretty sure I lost a bit of it about a week and a half ago. I haven't been having very much discharge this pregnancy so I noticed it right away. It was only about a dime sized amount, maybe less, but it was definitely thick and mucus plug-like.

It can happen any time, and sometimes very slow and gradually; like little bits here and there.

I didn't start losing mine during my first pregnancy until my first membrane sweep at 39+ weeks. And, I didn't go into labor until just before 42 weeks (and, I took castor oil to get it going).

I never saw mine either time. and really don't think I will this time either.... I tend to dilate early and never see any plug until pushing baby out.. not sure how it can stay up there but whatever.

I've never lost mine before I was in labor but I did have some blood tinged mucus about a week ago. Haven't seen any since though.

Unless it looked like a wine cork or had a tag on it reading MP I probably wouldn't notice it anyway. No I don't think I've lost mine yet, though!

LOL!!

I probably won't know when I do lose mine, since I clearly have no idea what it even looks like? I do imagine a little tiny cork falling out, though...

You guys are killing me with talk of wine corks and beer on the board today! I have a nice bottle of wine sitting on our wine rack calling my name.

No MP that I'm aware of yet. But I've also had an increase in CM so not sure i would notice it?

If it looks anything like mine did with my first son, you'll notice. Trust me. YUCK!!!

I've had a change in my discharge the last couple days (TMI) that I never even thought could be related to that, but now that you mentioned it.....

Only a small bit of it. I lost it at about 38 or 39 weeks last pregnancy.

I've never ever noticed it, with either pregnancy! So I'm not sure!

I get some very mucousy discharge that I assume is part of my plug, but I have never lost the whole thing at one time with any of my pregnancies.

The only one that I know that I lost it for sure all at once was with #2, I was so freaking excited cuz I was SO sure she was gonna be born within the next week. Yeah, well 4 weeks later past my due date I was induced. So it wasn't an indicator for me.

I am going to assume if you have no dilation to speak of you wont lose any of it early. too.
