Considering that she had gone to the hospital and been sort of checked she was at risk for infection which is probably why they did a round of antibiotics, but if you stay in your own environment and don't let anyone up near your vagina you can safely have your membranes ruptured for quite awhile.
48 hours at home isn't atypical, only thing is if you do stay at home you should check your temperature often to be sure you don't have a fever.

I hope the birth goes well!!!! can't wait to see an update.

Internet keeps not working at the hospital so can't get on my iPad, updating from my cell phone (hope this works). It was fairly stressful and ended in a csection because even mild contractions were lowering Natania's heart rate, which was dipping down below 70. She had no amniotic fluid, poor baby was feeling everything.

I'll do a full update with pics and her birth story if they get the Internet up here. She is healthy, 6 pounds 3 ounces. It was pretty emotional not being able to see her after the csection. Thankfully they kept DH with her, he caught her first visit with me on video and also videos her first bath. It was stressful not seeing her, or even knowing her size or anything for two hours.

My OB doctor did the csection and we were at a different hospital than the one we went to Saturday night with the on call doctors. I keep getting pretty emotional about what would have happened if I didn't call my doctor on Monday. Because she is preterm she's gotten jaundice now, they just took her to put her under a light for 24 hours, she's getting yellow, lethargic and her numbers are high for her age range. It's been amazing getting to meet her, I keep staring at her. Once she's set up in the nursery under the light we can go visit with her.

Oh mama! Sorry it was so rough!
Take your recovery (emotional and physical but I mean emotional) seriously! I had a traumatic birth for my second and it took months to process and once I started to do it, it took more months to get through it.... I hope that isn't the case for you, but be sure to get help if you need it. Although having a healthy baby IS very important, it isn't the only thing to consider, and you've been through a lot... I'm praying for you!
Congrats on your daughter too! I'm sure she is beautiful and can't wait, like other said, to see pictures!

My daughter's birth was a little traumatic too because she was stuck in the birth canal and in distress. Birth makes you emotions go crazy and any fear about your baby's life is hard to bear. My daughter was jaundiced too being born at 36 weeks and with the vacuum extractor, so she had to stay under the light for a week. If you are in the hospital for a little while, take advantage of all the help and advice from the nurses! You guys will all be out in no time.
