My last doctor properly freaked me out after birth by fisting me. Told me she was getting the clots. I bled for a grand total of 3 days after that. I wasn't looking forward to a woman fisting me to ever happening again, and it didn't. I wish it did now because I'm still bleeding. I know PP bleeding can normally last for 6 weeks, but I was so spoiled last time! I want my 3 days and it's over. lol After 9 months of no blood, I am very tired of it after just a week.

One annoying thing about nursing is the way I flood every time. It'll look like the bleeding has ended, and then I nurse. And I have two diapers to change. =P Cause that's what this thing most resembles, a diaper. It's just that big.

I had that happen with my loss, the doctor was elbow deep getting everything out. I barely had any bleeding, it was awesome. I think I've never really bled more than 10 days or so, and it was always lighter than a regular period for me.

I know sometimes they have to do it, but I'd seriously prefer having dental work done without novacaine. The only saving grace is I may still be numb from the epi and usually the baby's head coming out has numbed the area or they have given me a shot to numb the area for stitching. Also, I'm usually very distracted by my new baby to be as freaked out by it as I normally would be.

Ew, no, they've never done that to me. Sounds painful... I think I'd rather bleed.

I don't think they have ever done that. First time I bled about 5 weeks, second time it was closer to 3 weeks. After about a week, it wasn't too much though.

Don't think that happened last time. I bled for about 2 weeks, but only heavily for the first few days.

I had it done after my 3rd, whom I didn't have an epidural with. That was the WORST experience ever. I never want ot do that agian. Not to mention I still bleed for at least 2 weeks and ended up having to have a D&C at 6 weeks because of retained placenta, ,so apparently the resident Dr( not my OB) didn't get everything when he did it. I'll take the normal bleeding afterwards.

I didn't feel pain when it happened to me, but I did know what she did. My epidural had never worked so I was feeling everything. Onloy spotted for three days. That was Heaven. After DD1 I bled heavily for 12 weeks.

With #3 my doc had to do that but it wasn't just to do it for the heck of it. I was bleeding out and close to passing out because of the amount is blood loss. I didn't hVe an epi with him either so the pain if her cleaning me out was so much worse than the whole labor. I still bled like crazy passing clots for several weeks after.

I think after #5 my bleeding was done in a week. This time it's pretty light already. I went all day with nothing until after I got down shooting a retirement. So it seems the more busy I am the more it will pick up?
