So I live in an area that is known to have scorpions but I have only heard of them being found by people who live out in the boonies where there are lots of rocks. A few days ago I was on the couch feeding the baby and I noticed my husband bent over looking under the baby swing. All of a sudden he yells SCORPION and runs back into the kitchen. He ended up killing it with a BBQ spatula lol! I was super freaked out the rest of the night though. I decided to Google it and they are bark scorpions which are the most venomous in North America. It really freaked me out that it was under the baby swing so I made the mistake of looking up scorpion stings to infants.... then I freaked out even more. I am hoping it was a one time thing that one actually made it into the house, we live in the city and I haven't heard stories about anyone nearby finding them. I know people that have been stung and some say that it is very painful, others compare it to a bee and say that its not too bad. Either way, I am paranoid and am having trouble sleeping at night worrying about them getting on us or my boys. Anyone have any experience dealing with these and how to get rid of them? I read that Demon WP is a good spray for them so DH is going to be busy this weekend!

So scary! I have no experience with them either. I hope you don't ever see another one.

Wow, you've managed to possibly make palmetto bugs seem like the better option.... I know with those we can spray the perimeter and then if they get in, they'll cross through the chemicals and likely die soon. Not sure of there's something that would work similar for scorpions...?
