So I dropped off some clothes at a friend's and she told me her baby might have chicken pox! I didn't even see the baby and I am immune (had to get checked for college) and my lo wasn't near her, but I was curious if ya'll would keep your lo isolated for a little bit just in case? We were going to go to playgroup and I was going to go to the pool but now I'm not sure.I've never had the chickenpox so this is something I am totally clueless on! What I read was it can take 7 days for symptoms and you are contagious from about 1-2 days before you show symptoms so tomorrow might be fine
Of course the other baby might not even have it so I am probably overreacting, but again - never had it!

I'm not sure on this, I had chicken pox when I was 4. Both my kids were vaccinated against it and Christian will be too at 12 months.

I had chicken pox twice. Still got this scar on my forehead, too. From what I remember, you are contagious before you are even aware you have it. By the time it pops out, you aren't anymore? I'm pretty sure anyway. My oldest two have been vaccinated against it. MMRV now, isn't it? Hopefully it works. I still got the mumps as a child, and I'm not immune to Rubella.

I hear it can be bad for babies. Kids are normally OK, but adults and babies get it bad. Hopefully that other baby doesn't have it. I would personally keep baby home just in case. That's disappointing, though. I'd hate to miss a play date. Maybe you will know for sure before you need to go.

Well I slept through playgroup anyways Still no word. Since Phe wasn't actually in contact with the other babe I'm not going to drive myself even more crazy about it.
It will suck if she does happen to get it though ugh. We deal with enough itching with yeast and excema and allergies!

I had measles as a child as well, plus my vaccines and I had no immunity to it during this last pregnancy, and received another vaccine for it when Christian was 2 weeks. Nurse said if I'm not immune now I never will be lol
