I have asked this before but I wanted to see if any of our newer members have encountered this.

When Lynda was born, the nurse asked us if we wanted to place her as Black or White, saying that we couldn't select both. At the time, I really didn't think about it - I just had LJ, so we ended up placing her race as black.

Had anyone else, with their LO or their own, had to choose one or the other?

Did you wait to think about it or did you know before hand?

If there was a OTHER or MISC selection would you have chose it?

I honestly don't remember 100% but if I did have to pick just one, I usually pick black because I'm not white.

I don't recall being asked that for birth certificates. The only time I've had to choose one race was on school forms. I hate that they even ask. I don't see why it matters.
