I stopped running and lifting heavy weights since confirming pregnancy. So I now speed walk, elliptical, and do a light weight lifting class and I'm getting kind of crampy. Also not doing abdomen work anymore. Is it contractions? What are you experiencing?

I don't know moderate workouts actually help my cramping. Hope you find some answers.

I started cramping on the elliptical the other day. I only got about 15 mins on it and I had to stop. I'm going to hold off on the elliptical until the 2nd trimester i think. I did buy a dvd that i plan on starting tomorrow for pilates. hope it helps

I cramped just with walking on the treadmill my last two pregnancies so I have not even attempted working out with this one.

I'm a runner myself, just found a few days ago so I'm 4 and a half weeks. I've continued to jog, at a slower pace than usual, and found that I feel great during and after. I don't push myself too hard though. I read jogging is okay, as long as you can still hold a conversation then that's the right pace, nothing too strenuous.

I've been power walking on the treadmill and after awhile i feel like i get kind of a "stitch" in my lower right side. It's not cramping and i try to drink tons of water so i'm not really sure what's going on.

I've cut out running, but have still done a few days of Zumba (I just don't push as hard as I normally do) and walking on the treadmill and haven't felt any cramping. I remember I did in the first trimester with my first son, so I just cut back more. I'd say just listen to your body, we are all different.

Where do you feel cramps? In your lower abdomen or around your rib cage? I find that I feel cramps (rib cage) more easily since being pregnant and read that it was due to our increasing blood volume so our hearts have to work harder to pump the extra fluid, hence the cramps we get more easily.

It's like tugging feeling in my lower abdomen. So I guess I will just go slower at a slower pace..

Hey ladies! I am a runner as well, and noticed even before I confirmed I was pregnant that I was also cramping, but mostly in my rib cage. I was SUPPOSED to be training for a 10 miler in October, but I guess that's on hold for now. I've been taking it easy on running until I get to the doctor, but I really hope he says I can still do the 5K's I've registered for in April and May. I'm glad I found some other mommies that like to run and workout!
