OKay, so I've read that we are not supposed to have deli meat that hasn't been heated up due to our increased risk of Listeria.

Give me your honest opinion...how big of a deal is eating deli meat that hasn't been heated up? Is this a Huge NO-NO? Is it in the wiggle area? Is it a crock of ****?

Personally, I think it's up to you. I don't think it's a HUGE no-no, just one of those things to think about before you eat it. Some people don't want to risk it, some people think the risk is so small it's not worth the worry.

I eat it, if I'm home I'll throw it in the micro for like 20 seconds and then let it cool before I eat it. I have been craving corned beef so bad lately though I could not go without it.

Everyone is different. I eat deli meat everyday and never worry about it.

I don't stress a lot about what I eat, but that's just me personally.

With each pg I've become more relaxed in some areas. I'll eat deli meats and not even think about it.

Thanks for the opinions ladies.

I ate some yesterday and felt really green the rest of the day and into the night. It might have just been a coincidence, of course. I feel like normally, my immune system is really good. But of course you never know how far it might come down with pregnancy to put you at risk.

I really don't want to give it up, because it is just so easy to make sandwiches for lunch (and it is a healthier option than what I'm craving).

I eat it and did throughout my last pregnancy. I've never had listeria before nor heard of anyone getting it so it's not something that concerns me.

I've always been cautious about it because a family friend (who is a midwife) always told me to not eat deli meat cold. She was my doula and every appointment I went to she reminded me to not eat it.
