With all the Easter challenge madness going on, I totally forgot that I have my 1st prenatal appointment today. I don't think it'll be too exciting. I wonder if I can talk them into an ultrasound.

---------------------------------------------

So, they wouldn't let me sneak a peek. Bummer. I don't get an ultrasound until my next appt. at 12 weeks. But I did get a pap smear and an HIV test (evidently those are mandatory now?). Fun times. The Dr. did say that my uterus felt 8 weeks pregnant so that gave me some peace of mind. I was there forever though - 2 1/2 hours. Sheesh.

Oh, they mentioned something about group care. Has anyone heard of this? Evidently you have your doctor's appointments with a group of women so that topics can be addressed for everyone and then you get some one-on-one time with the physician.

I'd never heard of it before.

When I had DS#1, they did that group care environment. There are pros and cons to it, but I liked knowing all of the doctors so that when labor came, I knew the one who was on call that day. I hope you like it!

I've never heard of group care, but looking at the sheet that I was given at my last appointment, there is something listed called shared medical appointments that sounds like it could be something like that. They didn't have anything like that last time around, so maybe it's something new they've started.

I've never heard of group care, I can see how it could work well in some areas.

I've been lurking but when I saw you mention the group appts I had to chime in. I work in a clinic we are encouraged to do group appts as well. The whole theory behind t is is that the dr can see more pts in a short amount of time and still get workload credit for each individual pt.
