The OB I saw originally with my first and then the midwife I switched to both went by LMP even though I was certain when I had conceived. It's just easier I guess. My only concern would be if I thought I would go far past my due date, and then I'd prefer the later date if I would be pressured into inducing. I'm sticking with LMP personally because I went a bit before my due date with my first so I'm assuming I just don't bake babies as long and I'm not worried about hitting 42+ weeks with my second.
LMP. As long as baby measures within 7 days of lmp, they never usually vear from that.
Thank you Shortcake for my beautiful siggy..]
Momma of 8 beautiful children now. Most recent is Jerry Jr. born 11/19/12 at 37wk, 7lbs 6oz and 19.5inches and Baby Reymundo born 10/7/13 at 35w6d, 6lbs 7oz, 19.5 inches. Momma of 5 angels. New siggy to come!
I had my intake appt and armed with blood test dates they went with my ovulation date. I'm not going over due! Besides knowing I'll be a hormonal mess at the end, its dangerous as I had a placental abruption before. The risk goes up significantly if over due.
Laura, homeschooling mama to Christine 1-02, Nicole 5-03, Everett 4-09, Alister 9-10, Moira and Giselle born October 24, 2013!
If you know when you O'd, then IMO that is always the most accurate way to measure dates. The problem with going with your LMP if you ovulate really late, is that it's nice on paper to have an earlier date. But if you don't have exactly 28 day long cycles & ovulate literally on day 14 then it's not accurate. And not nice when you're 40 weeks gestation, but really only 39 & they want to evict baby Just my 2c's.
Oh & I am a late ovulator normally with long cycles
