Perhaps you remember me posting about wanting a Jenny Lind spindle crib? I'm just in love with the look. Anyways someone on one of those Facebook online garage sale pages posted she had one she would sell me in late August when he daughter transitions to a big girl bed. for only $35; yay!

I asked her if the crib had a drop side and she said it did not. Double yay!
Then she sent me this picture of the crib today:

(Ignore the bedding)

I see some kind of metal part on the railing next to the wall? But I think someone on here posted about how drop side cribs could be turned into fixed sides so maybe that's what happened? Or am I crazy and that's just a normal part of the crib I don't need to worry about? Maybe I'm just looking for something wrong because its such a good deal.

I wanted to ask on here first because if it is just something normal I don't want her to think I'm psycho for questioning her over and over. >_> She already said it didn't have one and I will go look at it but not until August.

I think I might have that crib at my moms! I am going to take a pic...and it doesnt have a drop side, and that doesnt look like it either. I think if it had a drop side, the part would be longer, because drop sides drop quite a bit, and that doesnt look like it would be dropping much.

correction the one at my moms is a drop side, I just looked. And it doesnt look like that side, let me upload to photobucket and show you a pic

The metal piece is probably to attach the bottom part, looks like it is all the way lowered since she has an older kiddo. For baby, you'd want to have it adjusted to the highest setting so you don't have to reach in as far to put baby in/get baby out.

I got a Jenny Lind cradle I found at a indoor antique shop a few years back. I paid about $50 for it and refinished it to the natural look and used it for my 2.5yr old and 1.5yr old. Im saving it now for my grandchildren one day. I love this style too, as I had it for my first 3 boys......they just dont make them this way anymore, great find!
