So my DH and I were DTD last night and he felt a gush and it wasn't an orgasm gush. Ever since then I have been having a lot of discharge and it woke me up several times during the night. I read online to put a clean pair of underwear on and lay down for 30 min and if there was a small puddle of wet to go to the ER. I had a small discharge on the underwear but i couldn't tell if it was from increased discharge or if it was leaking fluid. So I called my doctor and told them about it and they are bringing me in for an ultrasound today and a doctors appointment to make sure that I didn't break my water. Anyone else had experience like this? I'm getting nervous! It's clear in color too, forgot to mention that.

I had some extra discharge the other day that freaked me out, but it didn't come out constantly.
This is probably going to sound gross but does it have any smell to it? They say your water smells sweet. I do have a friend who's water broke at 15 weeks, she called me up because her DH was out of town and we were laughing that she peed her pants, but it kept coming in gushes with blood mixed in. It definitely wasn't small puddle amounts. When she got out of the car at the hospital she stood and soaked her pants...

No mine is small and ugh tmi but smells like cleaning products which is what scared me. All the research i have done says that is a smell of fluid. But I'm not gushing and so it makes it hard to tell what exactly it is.

Okay, this is going to be REALLY tmi, but did DH orgasm inside you? It could be that leaking out, because semen definitely has that bleachy smell. I know I always leak for awhile after sexy time.

He did but the leaking has never lasted this long before to my knowledge. And I'm starting to cramp which could totally be not related...smh! It's been so long since I have done the whole pregnancy thing.

There's a really simple swab test that can be done to check for amniotic fluid. And amniotic fluid has a very sweet smell, and it's pretty much water - there's a big difference between vaginal discharge or semen and amniotic fluid.

I had some wetness with my oldest towards the end and I thought it was just normal wetness and it was crazy hot....well turns out during labor when they went to break my water, they said it was already broken (I had done the lay down/get up test) so I guess I had been leaking afterall.

Then with my other 2 I had the same wetness and they did a swab to check, but it was just wetness. I am starting to have some recently too. Enough to occasionally have to change my undies, but not big gushes, I don't feel it.

Good luck!

I hope everything is ok! Here's my crazy thinking on the situation...since discharge is there to basically keep our lady parts clean, could it be that your body just upped production to clean out the "foreign" semen? Not sure about the rest of you girls, but I always have a ton of completely normal discharge when I am pregnant, so much that I wear a pantyliner daily.

Having to use pantyliners is normal. My bff had several times where she freaked out her last pg thinking her water broke in the second trimester. Once we were talking on the phone and she felt a gush. It was enough to leave a good size spot on her couch going through her jeans. It was never anything and she carried to term and had to be induced! I would have them swab to make sure it isn't amniotic fluid, but it hopefully isn't!

I have a friend who did have her water break in the early 20 weeks with her twins. She was hospitalized for months. They got the babies to a good size!

My grandma had her water break very early. I can't remember how many weeks, but early second trimester. She was told she would loose the baby. She didn't! The sack actually healed itself! She said that all the drs were looking at the sack after her full term baby was born and you could see the scar tissue where it healed! I wish we had a picture of it!

Thank you so much girls! I appreciate the support and advice!! No leaks here thank God! Apparently you make more discharge/wetness in the second trimester. According to my doctor my body was doing what smileymom said and trying to flush the semen out! Made me feel A LOT better but also made me feel stupid for getting worried...lol.

So glad everything is ok!! And I always think it's better to call/go in and get checked out than worry about looking paranoid.
