It's not for me, but is anyone planning to do anything with their placenta?

We are going to do placenta encapsulation. We have never done it before and my initial thought is "ew" and "it's so weird," but after all the reading I've been doing and the fact that my doula offers it, we decided to go for it. It is supposed to do wonders for the hormone crash after birth, milk production, and lots of other stuff. I hope no one thinks I am weird, but I think it's so cool!

13 eggs retrieved, 10 mature, 5 fertilized with ICSI, 2 made it to day 6, both abnormals. No transfer.

We will cycle again-stims start September 6, 2014!

She takes the placenta, and makes it into pills. Depending on how big the placenta is, it maybe a 3-4 month supply, and I can take 1-2 pills a day.

I have read about how some women eat it raw, or blend it up into smoothies but I don't think I am brave enough for that. Give it to me in a pill and I'm good to go! LOL

They dehydrate it, crush it, and turn it into pills. Lie I said, it's not for me, but I have herd it can do a lot for women, particularly with warding off ppd.

Nope, I don't even want to see it. More power to those who choose to consume it, but that's definitely not for me!

We're encapsulating ours and getting it made into a tincture. I wanted to with my first son but his placenta was unique and the midwives asked to keep it to "show it off" lol. I agreed and the only regret I have is not taking a picture of it lol.

I've thought about doing it myself but DH says no. We're paying to have someone do it in their own home plus I want the tincture to save for menopause or any hormonal issues I'll face in the future.

Danneleigh - what is tincture ?

We are not keeping our placenta but I keep getting bombarded by Core Blood options. Anyone storing their core blood?

Placenta Tincture - Placenta Network

It lasts forever pretty much and you can use it whenever in life. You just do a drop on your tongue or in a drink. I'm saving mine for menopause. I have endo and there's always the chance ill get a hysterectomy early.

Nope I will have them toss that sucker. lol. I think the idea of doing stuff with it is really neat but I'm not brave enough. I already have a bad gag reflex so that would make it worse knowing what I'm putting in my mouth lol.
