Share some tips for first time mommies to help them get through those first few weeks after baby.

I say ask visitors not to come at the same time or call to see if you feel like visitors.

When people offer to help or bring dinner, ACCEPT THE HELP! With my first I was all like, "oh, that's ok! We are ok. You don't have to do that." Dumb, dumb, dumb! LOL!

If you are a first time mom, you will hear this a lot, but really do it: SLEEP WHEN THE BABY SLEEPS!!! I don't care if it is 3:00 in the afternoon and you have visitors or a sink full of dishes. If baby naps, politely excuse yourself to nap with them so you keep your sanity. Sleep is sleep no matter what time you can get it! You will appreciate an hour nap when you are awake at 4:00am!

If baby will be sleeping in your room at first, keep a basket of burp cloths, wipes, diapers, extra jammies for baby, and extra blankets right beside your bed. You will not want to have to walk to the nursery 6 times a night no matter how cute it may be decorated!

also if you have two levels in your house keep a diaper bag filled downstairs so you don't have to walk the stairs mutiple times.

If you are going to have visitors dont try to entertain them, put them to work.
if you prefer cooking your own meals prepare different meal or at least the prep and put it in the freezer.

People will give advice. Sometimes you just have to smile, listen then do what works best for you.

Keep on top of laundry BEFORE you go into the hospital!!! I literally was folding laundry while having contractions with #2. I figured as long as the contractions were keeping me awake, I may as well be productive! Then I also start a load of laundry as soon as I get home. I probably a weirdo, but at least if the clothes is washed/dried, it has a better chance of actually getting folded and put away.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. These kiddos don't come with instruction manuals!
