Just returned from my OB visit.. luckily it wasn't a long wait. I found out the clinic has many OB's working as a team and the doctor I request might not always be available.
First the nurse took my blood pressure which was good. Then she took down my info and some information- she was asking me about my last pregnancy which was also monitored at the same clinic. I mentioned she should have all the paperwork there since the same OB was taking care of me last time- she tried to figure out what degree my last episiotomy was and all she found was a description stating it was a "wide episiotomy". Later my doctor told me it was done last time because the baby was 8'11 and because forceps were used.
My doctor was surprised they found low iron that early in my pregnancy (back when I was 20 weeks or so) she is sending me for another blood test as well as for my GD test which I will be doing within a couple days.
Also, I am disappointed in hearing that more likely I will be induced again.. since last pregnancy I was induced 10 days after my due date. She mentioned more likely I go over my due date but this time she will try to induce earlier so the baby doesn't get as big as last time. Also she will try to correct my last episiotomy.. so I will be cut again.. I am very nervous hearing this and am NOT looking forward to this pregnancy.. as last time left me crying for weeks. I mentioned my concerns to my husband in the car but he said "you wanted to have another kid.. should of taken the risks under consideration" which made me really upset! I didn't want to start an argument and kept quiet..but I really am terrified of being induced again and cut..
Regarding not feeling the baby move.. she checked the heartbeat and it was 150 healthy She told me in third trimester to count kicks.. 6 kicks for 2 hrs.. if not to go to labour and delivery and have the baby checked so will be checking now.
Also my appointments are every two weeks until 36 weeks.. they will be once a week.

Are you still feeling something wrong from the last epi? Maybe this baby will kickstart labor before an induction can be done.

I hope so too.. Fingers crossed although more likely not according to my doctor
I am worried about episiotomy being cut again which chances are they will try to fix my last one as it wasn't well stitched

Shana.. Doctor asked me to count 6 kicks every two hours.. How are your babies kicking?

My girl's fine. It's William I have to keep an eye on. I'll be using your kick count to see if that works for him. Is it just kicks or any kind of movement like a roll?

It's usually any movement my dr says. Jabs punches kicks, rolls...

Anyway I'm glad it mostly went well, I hope you have spontaneous labour this time as well<3

Do you feel that the previous episiotomy should be fixed? I was given one with my first and was so upset. It hurt so bad! It hurt until I had my next baby. My next baby was a much more difficult presentation and a forceps fail and I wasn't cut and I didn't tear. I really think it depends on the Dr. Personally I'd much rather tear then be cut! I tore with my last because he was in distress and I pushed him out in one push vs easing him out. If the first one needs to be repaired, then it might be worth going through that again.

Kick counts are any kind of movements.

Also I would rather rip as well than be cut. You also can refuse to be induced. Have them start stripping your membranes at 37 weeks. It doesn't work for everyone but for some it does. It's worth a shot right. Also some of my kids were bigger than my first and I successfully pushed them out. You can do it girl. Don't let them doctors talk you into anything you don't want to do. Also don't let them use there scare tactics on you.

She said any kind of movement or kick start counting from the first one up to six. If you feel six in a row one after another or within five minutes then you are good and check again in another two hours. If you only feel one then keep counting for up to two hours until you get six. If you don't try drinking something sweet and counting until you get six. If you don't get six and it continues so for half a day go to labour and delivery to get checked
I tried her suggestion and been getting six.. I did have a cold Frappuccino too
Hope it works for you- let me know

The doctor had to cut me a wide cut because of the forceps... And my stitches were by his assistant who said " I'm not sure how can you help me" and he took over. I tried to get an early post partum appointment but they told me I called in too late ( a week after delivery was late for them) and had to wait 6 weeks by then they were mostly healed and doctor told me I should get them fixed during my next delivery.
I will look into stripping membranes as an option thank you for your suggestions. I know my body wasn't responding to induction last time so would like an alternative method.

Also been told second pregnancy is a lot easier but my OB today sounded sure I would have to be induced.. She thinks 8'11 is big size.. But woman give birth to babies over 9 pounds so am very confused

I always ask for my membrane to be stripped and it never works! Nothing ever works though! I've tried everything but caster oil! Not going there! I've heard it does work for some and it won't hurt you or the baby to try! Its uncomfortable when they do it.

Regarding if I feel my epi should be fixed.. it doesn't feel as it used to.. not the same.. it is a bit bothersome .. also my doctor said "cosmetically" it will look better- I am more concerned about how it feels.. so if I am to be cut again they might as well do it right..

I was begging to be cut with #2. though I had been awake for a long time at that point and BP was making my head spin!

Only time will tell what will happen. Maybe baby will decide to come on their own!
