I didn't. Mostly because I have never gotten one before and I never really get sick. Though reading your previous post and how your midwife phrased things makes me feel a bit bad for turning it down. I don't know.

I didn't. Never had one before and knowing my luck, I'd be one of those people that get sick from it.

I haven't decided yet. I mean I should to protect the baby. I usually get one every year anyway due to working in the medical field. But last year I got really sick. Not sure if. It was related or not but still.

See... I go back and forth. I think I should get it, especially because I trust my midwife and her judgment, and she was honest and said it's about 75% effective, so it's not foolproof, but that it's good to have and good to get some protection to baby, but then there is the part of me that says the last couple times I've gotten it, I've gotten sick! But I think I've gotten sick when I've had the mist which is the live version.

I've talked to some IRL mommy friends adn I think they all got the shot. I just worry about the safety while pg... If that makes sense? But I also know how scary teh flu can be. My mom didn't get it and when my brother was a baby he got the flu and she said seeing him laying in the ER, thinking he was like dying, was the worst feeling of her life

I just don't know...

I got it, main reason is because I now have 4 kids in school and those little suckers like to bring home germs. When you have a baby that gets so sick they end up in the hospital you become a little paranoid. I've never in my life had the flu, and neither have my kids but I still want to be proactive about it because one of my kids has asthma and he ends up in the ER easily.

I got it because I think it's best for me and baby, and because my job makes me get it although I'm sure I could have opted out and just waited until he was born.
The doctor said it's a good idea to get it, so I did.

I got it. I thought about it A LOT because i've gotten the flu right after i've gotten it in the past, or have gotten ill.

I brought this up to the nurse and she asked me if in the past i had gotten the flu shot later, than earlier. I always had. So i had to admit there was definitely a chance i had already been exposed to the flu before getting the shot.

My recent asthma attack was also a real motivator. It's more dangerous for me to get the flu than the average person because of it and i felt like it was more of a gamble for me NOT to get it, than get it. Being pregnant, i don't want to take that chance.

I also work with people who refuse to stay home when they are very ill AND a kid in school, so there's a good chance of lots of flu germs being around me. :-/

So those are just my personal reasons!
