still haven't begun life with the babies. they're still in the hospital maybe for another week or two-- hopefully no more than that.

last night was my first night home. i slept for 6 hours, woke, took pain meds, then slept for another 6. pretty good sleep. woke up to some boobies that were not happy about the length of sleep though. lol

Seems like one of my two are always awake making sleep not so great. It's not really true, they do both sleep, but not much time between feedings. I'm mostly pumping and feeding them by bottle. They will latch with a nipple shield but it takes quite awhile and frankly its just overwhelming to me to need to breastfeed both. I'm pumping to keep my supply and be able to give them what I produce and will see how I'm feeling in a week or two and get help breastfeeding from a lactation person if I decide to go that way. Meanwhile, feeding two bottles and pumping, still takes a long time, but at least I can get some help with that!

I'm pumping like crazy. Milk started coming in and now its really starting to produce. I'm making enough for one baby. I'm sure I'll be uip to enough for both soon. Everyone is surprised I'm producing as much as I am. I'm positively huge though! I'm straining out of my favorite nursing bra! Its a G cup! I have new stretch marks on my breasts. I'm pumping every 2 hrs round the clock.

I haven't really been pumping on a schedule for 3 reasons 1) I didn't get enough of the preemie bottles from the NICU 2) I wasn't sure how often I would make it out to the NICU since I'm not allowed to drive and 3) was avoiding it as much as possible really. But now that I've managed to go daily, I've been doing better about it, pumping about 3-4 times a day. My supply is pretty darn good-- I get 2oz from each w/in 15 minutes. So thankfully it doesn't take long but I do one at a time so that I'm not hunched over bored holding two bottles. Ordered that strapless hands-free nursing bra today though so that I can do this faster.

I told my DH that I need a hands free nursing bra on the way home tomorrow. My wrists are hurting from holding the pump parts so much.

I always wondered how the straps work. My Medela comes with straps and couldn't figure it out. It wouldn't feel tight enough my breasts for the milk to come out properly.

Straps?

Can't wait until that bra comes in. I need to order covered ice trays for milk storage.

Going good so far. He eats a ton, especially at night, but overall easy. Still adjusting to having two because my first son is a hand full.

Life has been hard up till today after still being I. The hospital but I am grateful I was with her . I know some of our mamas have had to leave their littles behind....
But I did not do good in the hospital at all!!
I slept for more then an hour for the first night last night since Thursday evening.... Ended badly lol... And not her fault. I just couldn't stop watching her sleep.
Feeding was a challenge at first but she's doing awsome now

How is life with babies?

Right now very stressful since she is in the NICU still. She is a week old tomorrow and I just want her home!

How are they feeding and how you managing with sleep?

She eats awesome now! She is happy at the breast and with bottle feeding. I still haven't really slept well because I was in the hospital coming around the clock for feeding and now I'm at home and pumping as much as I can to take my milk to her.
