What's the biggest change you have noticed since baby arrived? Physical? mental? Emotional?

I don't get anywhere enough sleep, and I love my sleep. I also have no time to get anything else done since Ivy always wants to be held!

The hardest part is the level of sleep deprivation. My DH doesn't have the luxury of helping at night, so its all on me. Between the twins needs and pumping, there are some nights where I don't get any sleep at all. I try to catch a nap while the kids watch a movie or when my DH gets home in the evening. Of course there have been several nights where he didn't get home until after midnight.

Honestly, not too much. Thomas is a pretty easy going baby.

How long it takes me to get out of the door to do ANYTHING. I am a 5 minute & out the door kind of girl, so I underestimate how long it's going to take me to get ready now, ALL the time

I was so impressed with myself for getting all six in the van in 25 minutes and that included looking for the 3 yr olds shoes! First time took 35 minutes and we were all nearly crying. The boys were crying it was so awful. Gone are the days of announcing we are leaving and pulling out 5 minutes later!

I am much sappier than I've ever been before. I feel like my heart is going to explode from loving these girls so much.

And gone are the days where I could just pack up SC and go to the park. Getting two very little ones out the door is hard.

Honestly, not much, she is such an easy baby. If anything, Mabel has brought a nice balance to our home and the family dynamic has changed a bit- for some reason, since she arrived, my older kids are nicer to each other and getting along with each other better. Going out is more of a challenge I guess, the biggest change has been getting a baby ready to go out in the cold- it takes me about 20-30 minutes longer to leave the house than it did before.

The biggest change is mental/emotional. Of course sleeplessness is pretty high on the list but it beat by mental/emotional changes. There is the innate need to protect her everything including her father and aunties which is totally inane because they would never hurt her, the weepiness (I'm worse than the Hallmark channel) I can cry at any given moment, the anxiety about returning to work, the worry about 'doing it right' and being a good mother while staying married. Yep challenges all around.

physical- this **** recovery!

emotional- i'm sappier too. i'm afraid to leave her side even to shower for fear i'll miss something. i know she's a week and a half old but still. and i'm clingier to Nate. i want the two of them in my sight at all time. i guess that's the anxiety? but oh well.

mental- my priorities are different. i feel like i'm constantly in survival mode, but for someone else.

Loss of the ability to do anything for myself. No one on one time with hubby.

Lack of sleep. I'm not a night person so I'm used to sleeping at night and getting up early. DH is back to work so he works nights and sleeps during the day. He needs the sleep more than me to do his job so that's been the hardest part

I'm always so tired. The midnight parties are getting to me. And my three year olds attitude is getting old

That's us too... I really miss the one on one time with him... we used to have a date night every weekend when my older kids would go to their Dads- I am so looking forward to a nite out together at some point!
