So I just found out that i'm pregnant with my second last night. This morning I had a blood test to confirm.
I am, indeed, pregnant.
Just earlier this week I found out I got a part in a musical that I auditioned for last week.
The rehearsals are for the next 2 months, Sunday through Wednesday, 6pm-10pm.
Based off of my last pregnancy, and how tired I already am (even if going to bed at 9pm), I can't imagine this working out. Plus, I know this could be very stressful, not to mention the 10 performances in August.
I worked so hard to get this part. Singing lessons, call backs, etc.
But this baby and his/her health is more important to me than the part in the musical.
What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should I try hanging in there with the musical, or should I just skip this one and relax through my first trimester?
(Now that I type all this out, I am leaning towards letting this part in the musical go.)
First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am Cecilia, also pregnant with number two! How was your first trimester with your first baby? I would say that because of how unpredictable pregnancy and the first trimester can be, I think I would hold off. But, because you worked so hard to get it, I want to say, you can do it! What a tough decision. Wish I could be of more help.
That is a toughy because I want to say let yourself rest because it will def help especially if you get morning sickness or anything but also it is pretty awesome to get a musical part! Congrats and good luck!!!

Hey- Thanks gals!
First trimester with my first baby was really bad. I could barely stand up without blacking out, I had heart problems and nausea. I think it would probably be best I try to get through my 1st trimester without adding risk to the baby from the physical and mental stress of doing a stage production.
However, I mentioned this to my husband (thinking about backing out of this one), and he seemed disapproving.
It is not like him to be judgmental at all.
I told him that I didn't want to disappoint him, and he said that he wouldn't be disappointed, but he was thinking of how hard I worked to get this part, and not be able to do it.
I told him I agree with him, but i'm pregnant now. That comes first.
Congrats on your pregnancy!!! I hope that you have a great 9 months!!!
I don't know what I would do in your shoes!! Do you work outside the home?? I would lean more toward doing the musical unless you also work full time as well. You've worked hard to get the part and if you were working full time you probably wouldn't quit your job to stay home and rest your first trimester BUT I see where you would want to take the time to rest, especially since you had m/s before. GL deciding!! Only you know whats best for you!!
First of all, congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to the DDC! I'm Sea, expecting my first!
That is definately a hard decision, I think I would try and go ahead with it, especially as hard as you worked for it! Whatever you are comfortable with, and whatever is best for you, I say you go with!
