About me - I'm 25; I had my daughter when I was 18. I kept her pregnancy a secret until I was 5 months along. So I ignored most my symptoms until then. I can't really remember most of the things I feel now, so it's kind of all new to me. I'm still very close friends with her father and we all do things together like a big strange family. I went to college but didn't like it, which has resulted in being unsuccessful in job hunting. I'm currently a SAHM. I'm living with my fiancé of almost 3 years (in Oct.).
When we got engaged this Feb. on Valentine’s Day we discussed having a baby. He had some damage to his boys so we didn't know if it was a possibility. We decided to NTNP until September and then if we were unsuccessful we'd go to a fertility specialist.
The day after mother's day I was doing a lactose intolerance test at the hospital and wasn't allowed anything to drink except a tall glass of milk. For the six hours I was there I had to pee about 10 times. I found that strange...
The Next day I decided to test and saw a very faint line. I ran to the drug store and bought a cheap test and a fancy digital test. They were both positive!! Yay! I was 9 dpo when I tested.
We told our parents that day! They were all very excited, especially his mom. I had my daughter say "guess what? I'm going to be a big sister" His mom kind of ignored her and said "are you, that's nice" Then you could see it in her face as it hit her and her eyes got big and she asked us loudly and excitedly "ARE YOU, ARE YOU!?!" we shook our heads giggling and she shouted "IM GOING TO BE A GRAMMY!!!" I cried! It was awesome!
I've had to go to the ER three times so far. Once for cramping (which I didn't know was normal) and once for severe dehydration and again for a high fever which turned out to be mono.
I had two ultrasounds to check placement and the second one was at 6w2d with a heartbeat of 130!
My only symptoms so far are dizziness and feeling run down, sore breasts and a little nausea. I've only lost my cookies a handful of times so far. My big OB appointment is June 28th! I'm excited. I've already got a belly showing too! AHH! With my daughter I didn't show until the weekend after we told everyone (5 months) haha!
6/28 10 weeks
Today was the first prenatal appointment. It went very well. I love the new dr. She's very nice. She went over all the important information that I forgot about since I had big sis. She answered all my questions and told me about all the meds I can take. I got a nice goodie bag with lots of things in it. I get to have an ultrasound sometime this week. Then probably another one a week or two later for the genetic counseling. They're going to do blood work to screen for things. My next prenatal appointment will be in a month to go over everything.
The mono I got a week ago has taken all the attention away from my pregnancy symptoms so I haven’t noticed them very much. I still have sore bb's and tiredness. The dr. said my exhaustion may have been from the mono instead of the baby. I'm excited for when the mono goes away. I can enjoy the pregnancy fully when that happens.
I'm excited to start feeling movement. The weeks are going a lot faster now. Last I remember I was 8 weeks and now I'm 10. It's exciting! 12 weeks and the second trimester will be here before I know it!!
7/7 11 weeks
I had an ultrasound the other day. I loved it. The baby was wiggling around like crazy. Waving its arms and doing flips. heart rate was 170. The tech did lots of measurements. Well today the ob's office called with the reason for all those measurements. I've got placenta previa. She said that it was "across the os". I had never heard of that but she explained it as placenta previa. I guess the os is the top of the cervix.. I hope it moves on its own. She said it might. They'll check at the 20 week scan. Oh and the baby is measuring at 12 weeks... So they're calling me 12 weeks but keeping my due date the same. idk.
7/25 14 weeks
So in the time passed I've had another ultrasound, Josh got to be there for that one. The baby wasn't as active but was lying on its head. The heart rate was 165. We had genetic testing too which came back great so far. We're going to go back in a few weeks for a follow up. I've been growing well but haven’t felt any movement yet. Everything’s going well. I have an OB appointment tomorrow so I'll post more tomorrow.
7/27 - Well, It was very uneventful. The office scheduled me for August 26th instead of July 26th. They didn't even have a doctor there. So I saw the nurse and she didn’t do much of anything. Just weighed me checked my blood pressure and checked for the heartbeat. I only gained 6 pounds so far, the blood pressure was 118/70 and the heart beat was in the 160s.
8/18- 17 weeks. Feeling the baby moving a lot now! Kicking daily! It's a comforting and reassuring feeling. I'm anxiously awaiting the 26th so I'll know when the gender scan is.
9/13- Today's my first baby's 7th birthday! So excited. I always think back to the day she was born. I hope this delivery is very much the same! So, lately with baby we had another appointment which was normal, an emergency appointment thanks to cramps and sharp pains which is all normal because of the baby resting on my cervix and it being the second time around. Then we had our 20 week anatomy scan. Baby was measuring at 21 weeks 2 days. Which was expected since that's how all the scans have been. Everything was good and normal in the scan. Good healthy kidneys and heart and everything else. I saw the gender right away and laughed!! (cuz everyone was right) Daddy and Grammy didnt see until way later when the tech pointed it out! The tech said.. yeah, looks like a boy. I heard "YESSSS" from daddy and a cry/laugh from grammy! So we're having a boy. Jackson John! My next appointment is the day before my birthday. We had a gender reveal party/Kayley's bday party on sunday. It was awesome. We had a great turnout and Kayley got a lot of gifts. We revealed the gender with blue icing filled cupcakes. And everyone's excited reactions made me cry! It was great!
10/7- So on Tuesday I noticed I was having menstral cramps all day. Around 8 they were frequent enough to time them. I called the OB and they said to go to L&D. After a while of timing the contractions, they decided to give me a shot of Terbutaline. They sent me home after the contractions stopped. Wednesday morning they started again around 10. I figured they were just braxton hicks. After some urging, I called the OB around 3. They said to go to L&D because I "shouldn't be having any contractions this early not even braxton hicks." The contractions were soo much bigger on the monitor. The on call ob came in and talked to me. I got another shot, and some pills to take home. They schedualed a FFN test for the following day. So Thursday came and the OB called to have me come in a little early. They swabbed and sent me for an ultrasound to check the length of my cervix. My cervix length was 4.9 cm. (double what the expected) and the FFN test was negative. It was good news! The contractions are still there but now I'm on bed rest to try to keep them under control. I got to see Jackson again and the tech was nice enough to make sure we were definitaly having a boy! She said that I have a posterior low lying placenta and that the baby was cephalic (heads down). So hopefully things will stay quiet until my next appt. I might do my GD test soon tho.
