Well, lost 10 pounds from feeling icky, which is fine, because I am a bit umm, "heavy."

I was sad because he couldn't detect the heartbeat yet but he wasn't worried, said it was common in "heavy set" girls, lol. So, I go back in in two weeks at my 12 week mark and that's when the ultrasound tech is in in case he can't quite get it.

Happened in my last pregnancy too

That stinks but it is nice he is having you come back in just two weeks instead of making you wait four.

I hope your next appointment is better.

aww that stinks. If it makes you feel better they didn't even try to check for a H/B at my 10 week. I hope your next appt.s better!

I have never been able to hear the baby's HB with a doppler before 14 weeks, so don't worry if they have to do the US next time. I am fluffy too, and even though I am only baout 10 pounds over weight it still is difficult for them to get it. Honestly, I would have told the doc not to even try the doppler if he wanted to at my appt on Monday. Luckily, I didn't need to since he hadn't planned on doing it.

How long did he actually try looking for it? I'm heavy too, and I found the heartbeat last night with my home doppler. It's true every woman is different but I HATE when doctors blame our weight!!

Hopefully you'll get to hear it at your next appointment.

You think 10 pounds over weight is fluffy? I'd hate to know what you'd call me.

Well, I have no fat on my arms or legs, all my extra weight is in my middle. And at one point I was obese, so all the extra skin and such makes my belly area fluffy. To get into a decent range is 10 pounds, but to get to where the doctors want me to be is closer to 25.

Sorry I know that can naturally put some worry on you but just be assured that even on heavy set women it's normal not to find the HB at 10 weeks. My doctor actually just did an ultrasound at 10 weeks because of that reason, didn't even mess with the doppler.
