I think they are fine to do! Especially if you are having a different gender. My only gripe about it is when they are having the same gender and/or a third baby but except to get all the big items even though they already have them. Like, dude! You don't need all the latest stuff and if you *really* do, buy it yourself! Don't expect all the big stuff at a baby shower!
There are exceptions to that... like if there is a big age gap between kids. But still... have a thankful attitude, ya know?
We are soo having a 2nd shower! It's been 6+ years! I have absolutley nothing as far as babies are concerned! I did score a new winnie the pooh swing for free the other day tho. If you guys have a girl you'll need some girly cloths. Do you still have everything else tho? If so, maybe just a shower to get her some cute outfits. If its a boy and you dont really need anything you could have a diaper party type thing.
Among my group of friends, we always throw huge, fabulous baby showers for first kiddos and we do fun, more low key sprinkles for subsequent babies. We typically reserve a room at a restaurant and somebody does decorations, somebody brings dessert and we all bring whatever kind of gifts the family needs. Usually just outfits, diapers, etc. It's such a fun time with friends and I love that we all want to honor every new little life, regardless of how many older siblings he or she has!
Thank you so much .:Shortcake:. for my beautiful siggy!
This will be my 4th child and I'm pretty sure that a LOT of family will be mad if we don't do a shower . My family and friends sort of see it as a get-together opportunity to snack, chat and meet the baby (because I get GD I only do my showers after baby is born so I can enjoy the sweets too!!!).
