My MIL gave me a pump that her neice left in their attic for storage. I have no idea if it was used. Is there replacement parts that you can purchase.. Like the part that touches the breast and catches the milk? I dont really feel comfortable using used parts. Should I toss it and just buy a new one?

What kind of pump is it? Sometimes you can get the replacement parts. The 'horns' should be able to be boiled.

I had a Medela from my SIL from my last pregnancy and I was able to find all the exterior replacement parts by searching online. I am just getting a new one this time around cause I about used that one into the ground!! Though, I won't be using it as much being a SAHM this time.

This is the one I had.

But, you can search the one you have here for the correct fitting parts.
Spare Parts - Medela

I got the tubes, shields, connectors and valves.
