(probably TMI)

I had my first bout with diarrhea last night. And it probably wouldn't have been much of an *experience* if my husband and I didn't happen to be walking into Mile High Stadium (Invesco Field) for our date night.

Suffice it to say I ended up rushing to a port-o-john (because he had to get our tickets and I...err...Mother Nature couldn't wait another second) and I almost lost it from both ends because of the smell (of the port-o-john).

Then we (barely) made it through the gate and I promptly spent another 45 minutes dying on the toilet inside a huge stadium with people all around me. How charming.

I have no idea why it happened (it's rare for this to happen to me) and before it did, the cramping was astronomical and was freaking me out. I was thinking something else could have been going on. Thankfully, it was just my bowels (never thought I'd see the day where I said something like that).

We had planned on running this morning (OB gave me the all-clear to continue to train for a half marathon as long as I listen to my body) and after last night, I thought it better to take the day off - which is hard for me to do but I'm thinking it's best for me and the baby...as my stomach is still kind of blah feeling...plus running would probably dehydrate me further...

(My) Lesson learned: stick to bland foods no matter what you're craving.

Hahaha... thankfully it was just your bowels isn't something you hear everyday, but it makes total sense in this DDC. I am so sorry for that horrible experience. lol.

I've been getting that a lot, too.
Imodium is my life saver right now. It's okay to take during pregnancy, and really works.

I have that all the time. All I have to say is, "Edmonton (bad disaster)" and my DH knows to quickly get me to bathroom. That was beyond embarrassing and not at all repeatable.

Thank you ALL for making me feel...not so alone with my bowel...issue. I'm happy (I guess?) to report that today has just been plenty of painful gas. Yay.

I second the thought that at least you made it to the toilet!! I had an event a couple weeks ago that I nearly did not make the toilet. We were driving and could not get home fast enough.

Hopefully your next date night will be better!

I'm so sorry. That's such a mood killer.

Are you lactose intolerant? That sounds just like me when I don't take lactaid before eating something with lots of cheese. I seriously rocked back and forth and cried during the last pregnancy. Poor DH was afraid he'd have to take me to the ER. silly boy!

ETA: Being a smarta** here, but reading your title made me laugh because isn't every place the worst place ever? Is there a good place to have diarrhea?

Feythful: I'd rather have "the diarrhea" in my own house than, well, anywhere else. Because anywhere else is definitely the worst place ever. Though the places without an immediately available bathroom definitely rank near the top...
