I was going to be 18 and a half week at my u/s Aug. 3rd. But now DH has to travel for work. I think I will be exactly 18 weeks this Friday, the 29th. But I think my midwife has me down as being 18 weeks on Monday. But maybe she was using my old due date (Jan 2nd) when she wheeled me.

I called and left a message, so I should be hearing back. Do you think exactly at 18 weeks is okay? Possible a few days early? We aren't finding out gender, just making sure babe is ok and there isn't two of them in there.

18 weeks is okay when not dertermining gender. My requisition said 18-20 weeks but my m/w said if I wanted to know gender to aim for closer to 20 because the closer to 20 the less likely the tech will make an error. I will be a day short of 21 weeks at mine which sucks because I want to know the gender soooo bad!!

I don't think a couple of days early should be a problem.

Do you not want to find out the gender ???

I'll be 19 weeks and 5 days when mine is done. We are most definitely finding out the gender, so that works! I agree though that 18 weeks will be fine for doing an anatomy scan. 18-20 weeks is generally the window doctors shoot for. I'm assuming you are trying to reschedule so Patrick can be there?

No we want to stay on Team Green. Well I do, but DH had his choice the last two times. It's my turn to pick!!

Oh, my midwife asked me to go closer to 18 weeks because the dating would be more accurate since I've been measuring big. I could schedule after Dh gets back, but then it would be closer to 20 weeks. I don't know what to do.

I think you should be ok at 18 weeks.

I will be half way through week 19 when I have my anatomy scan.

I will be 16w5d for my anatomy scan at the perinatalogists office. When I asked if it was too soon, she said as long as I wasn't carrying too much extra stuffing around my waist (she was politely trying to say about being too heavy without having met me) that I should be fine. She said they usually try to do them between 16 and 18 weeks.

We already know the gender so that isn't an issue for us. And we'll be going for monthly growth scans and a Fetal Echo-Cardiogram so I'm sure baby will be well monitored.

18 weeks should be fine! I had my "big ultrasounds" at 16 weeks with both of my previous pregnancies. I'm sad that my OB's office changed their procedures - Otherwise, I'd be having my u/s tomorrow!

This time around, I will be 20 weeks on the dot - August 23rd.

I've always seen anatomy scans scheduled between 18 and 20 weeks, so I think it should be fine
