Hi Girls!

Since we'll all, at one point or another, have some time to kill, what's your favorite book? I'm always looking for something new to read.

Mine...totally eclectic...but all great reads!

Born to Run
Eat, Pray, Love
The Shannara Series (The Sword of Shannara, etc)
Under the Dome

Water for Elephants is next on my list - is it as good as everyone says??

PS: my husband just started The Hunger Games...he loves it so far, so I'll probably read that soon, too.

The Lotus Eaters... LOVED it.

I just realized there is more than one book called The Lotus Eaters. Who knew? The one I'm talking about is by Tatjana Soli. It is beautifully written.

Loved this book. Made me want to know more about the history of the circus. Can't wait to see the movie.

Haven't read it yet, but just picked up the book by Jaycee Dugard. Anyone read it yet?

Hyperion series by Dan Simmons is my favorite right now. I just finished rereading the Hunger Games series, which was a pretty great, fast read.

I pretty much eat books, i read them so fast! Read all of the Sookie books, all of the twilight books...for vampire lovers there is the best series, it's called The Black Dagger Brotherhood. It's sexy and sorta violent...it's been around longer then the Sookie books even. The Game of Thrones series is amazing, I'm reading those books right now. There is also a great book called Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, and it's probably the best book I've ever read! I alway have recommendations!!

Love Twilight also ! The Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella are fab and always make me laugh - actually any of her books do. Louise Bagshawe is another one of my favourite authors.

Ohhh so many suggestions... when I find time to read I will endeavor to choose some from this list!

I have enjoyed Jodi Picoult in the past
For something weird and a bit dark, try the Mo Hayder books.

My sister is obsessed with the 'Clan of the Cavebear' series, I want to try but I'm not sure I can get into them?!

Orson Scott Card's Ender series.

Pretty much anything Anne Rice. The Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Chronicle are my favorites.

The Chronicles of Narnia are always good and of course Harry Potter.

White Oleander is good. Paint it Black by Janet Fitch is good as well.

I want to read Water for Elephants too!!

Random claim to fame: my cousin is Anne Rice's assistant. If you ever go to a book signing and see a blondish guy (kinda short...maybe 5'6 or 5'7) sitting at the table with her, tell him his cousin Jessica says hi. His name is Brandon...also goes by his "monk" name (for serious), Brother Becket.

Loved The Memory Keepers Daughter and just picked up White Oleanander last weekend

I also loved The Murder List, In the Deep Woods, Open House, a Kiss Remembered (read that one three times), Catch me When I Fall, and the best book I've read so far is House Rules by Jodi Picoult. I could not put that one down.
