When you start registering for or buying "baby things," will you be going gender specific or gender neutral?

Well, with our first, we were team green, so most of what we have already is gender neutral and I am SOOOOO thankful for that. It also prevented me from going totally crazy in spending mode before the baby was born.

However, this MAY be our last baby and since we know it is a boy, I bet most of the stuff we buy will be more masculine. Though, most of the gender neutral stuff is geared more masculine anyway.

I am not a huge yellow/green fan so I will be registering for gender specific things. If this baby is a gril I will need next to nothing because I saved everything from Elizabeth. If this baby is a boy I have nothing but a car seat and stroller. Ether way we will need a crib since Elizabeth's crib is now her day bed.

We will be getting gender specific stuff since we were team green last time and all of our major stuff is gender neutral.

I still have everything for Madison and a lot of it is girly but it's stuff that no one will see. If it turns out a boy I'll just use it expect clothes. Not sure if we will buy a crib yet. I know I want a double stoller.

I have a lot of gender neutral hand-me-downs from my brother's kids, so I feel lucky. I will be registering for more of the gender specific stuff that is less expensive, though. We only plan to have one for now (who knows if that'll change!) so I'm not too concerned with reusing my stuff. For now.

This is our first, and we're keeping it a surprise, so definitely gender neutral!

We got all the major purchases in gender neutral when I was expecting Luke. Then we bought small stuff for each of them in gender specific styles. This little boy will be getting some hand-me-downs from big brother, but I'll buy anything else we need specifically for a boy.

IMO gender neutral takes all the fun out of it! But its smart because it saves you money if you have another child of a different gender.

We still have all the big ticket items from DS and those are mostly neutral colors. I still have almost all of DD's baby clothes and most of DS's so clothing wise we're set, plus a lot of my friends and family have little babies and will hand down things that we need.

If it's a boy I'll be able to get lots of hand-me-downs from my cousins who have all had little boys the last year or two, but if it's a girl I'll have to start fresh. Either way, I plan to buy mostly gender neutral stuff because I don't really like the whole system of forcing babies into really rigid masculine and feminine gender roles, plus it's handy if we have more kids later on.

I had so much yellow/green with our first child that it makes me twitch to do it again, so we've gotten a few expensive things in a neutral palatte and we're waiting to find out the gender before we buy clothes and such.

Our big things that we got with Eli are all gender neutral. Car seat is black and grey, stroller is bright orange....
We will be reusing that stuff for sure!
If it is a boy we will be able to reuse Eli's clothes and small things. If it is a girl, you can bet I am going to SHOP SHOP SHOP!

All of our bigger things are gender neutral. Well, I actually just got rid of a few of our things before I got my BFP. The only thing that I'm considering buying is a carseat. The one we had for Kate is pink and I hate it! It's huge and awkward to carry. So I think I'd get a neutral one no matter what. We'll see... maybe I'll find out its twins on Friday and have to get two new car seats!!

well, i think it depends on the item. This is our last baby so i wont mind getting some gender specific items. At the same time, if its a girl, I will not be buying a bunch of pink stuff just because i dont like pink. With my son i just got most things that were neutral except clothing.

I voted 'nuetral' but really am more likely to get big ticket items nuetral and smaller thign sgender specific. I have done it both ways. With my daughter I went all out on girly stuff This is most likely our last, so i am thinking GN so I can sell it

Everything we registered for was gender neutral, but we knew we were having a girl so we got girly blankets and clothes and stuff. Her room her blue and green, but her sheets and changing table pad are pink. For me, if I did everything in pink/purple I would hate it. And I love pink! It's nice now we can reuse just about everything. Even a good amount of her clothes are gender neutral. Jeans, onsies, t-shirts, jammies, etc.

If this baby is a girl I will be buying lots of hair bands/bows! My DD has almost no hair and it's annoying the 1,000th time someone asks how old is HE.
