Got to drink the nasty orange stuff. I then had all the fun you can possibly have at the dr's office. (Sarcasm here!) Breast exam, pelvic exam, pap, etc.
I did get to hear the heartbeat today though so I'm super excited about that still. Heartrate was 155. Highest I have ever had with one of my kiddos so I'm letting myself think girl! Baby was really squirmy and gave us a hard time finding him/her but we got it anyway.
I was really sick after my appt today and I'm assuming from the GD testing. Not cool at all but I am finally feeling much better. My next appt will be in 4 weeks at 16 weeks exactly. We should get to schedule the big ultrasound that day!

Glad your appointment went well ..... what is the "nasty orange stuff" ? (first timer here )
They usually test you for gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Pretty much they have you not eat or drink for a certain number of hours and when you come in they give you the "nasty orange stuff." LOL It is pretty much like a flat tasting orange soda that you have to drink in 5 minutes. You then wait an hour after and they will draw your blood to check for the GD. It's not really all that bad but this is the first time I have been really sick afterward.

I'm not really sure. I asked and all the nurses could tell me was that it was something they just started doing recently. For some reason they want it done before then end of the first trimester and again later on. Just plain craziness as I have never had GD before so to me it seems a little pointless to make me do it twice.
