Is anyone else as blind as I am since becoming pregnant? Ok, I had a few distance issues before becoming pregnant but now I cant see a **** thing!!! The doctor says there is no sense in getting new glasses because your vision changes so much throughout pregnancy but come on!!!!!!! I want to see!!!!!

I read somewhere that in early pregnancy the lens' in your eyes can become harder or something like that and this can affect your vision. They mentioned blurriness to be very commom at this stage in pregnancy. You're not alone!!!

Ok, I found it. This is from "Mayo Clinic: Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy".

"While you're pregnant, your body retains extra fluid. This casuses the outer layer of your eye, called the cornea, to get about 3 percent thicker. This change typically happens by about the 10th week of pregnancy, lasting until about six weeks after your baby is born. At the same time, the pressure of fluid within your eyes, called intraocular pressure, decreases about 10 percent during pregnancy.
As a result of these two events, you may begin to have slightly blurred vision this month [meaning weeks 9-12]. If you wear contact lenses, particularly hard lenses, you may find them uncomfortable to wear. Still, there's no need to change your contact lenses. Your eyes will return to normal after you give birth".

So yeah, helpful, but not too helpful

I hope that shed some light on the subject!

Wow I've never heard that! Glad vision will return to normal, if it happens to me I would hate to think I wasted money on Lasik!

Yep that is what always happens to me I can see but it isn't as sharp as it use to be. It causes my bad migraines due to straining. It is never fun one of the reason as to why I'm ready for 3rd trimester to be here and done.. Other than wanting to hold the baby..

Yeah I get really bad migraines until I put my glasses on. Its insane. I hope I have semi normal vision again when pregnancy is over. I am only 20 and I feel like I have to put my glasses on to even read a menu like my father does lol
