still a little early for this, but just thinking...

Anyone considering having a Blessing way ceremony in place of, or in addition to a baby shower? I LOVE the idea of a blessing way. such a beautiful ritual! but I'd also like to do a typical baby shower with the cutesy games and lots of gifts. I think I might combine them and make the first half a blessing way, and then after the more ritual-like stuff move into the baby shower at the end with gifts and games. whatdya think? too much?

heres a link about blessing ways- Mother's Blessing Ceremony, Blessingway

I've never heard of any of this, not even from pagan friends. I probably wouldn't have a ceremony like it, but some of the ideas on there are cute. I wish I could still buy henna here(it's illegal in Louisiana since people mixed it with other substances and ended up hospitalized) because I would love to decorate my belly!

I have never heard of the Blessing Way Ceremony either. Can you tell us more about it?

I've never heard of the Blessing Way but reading up on it sounds cool. But I would probably have a mini baby shower nothing to crazy. The decorating the belly is the cool part it looks beautiful on the belly. Very cool.

I had a blessingway with my last baby, it was wonderful. I will likely do the same for this baby. We don't need any baby items since this is #7, but I think every baby should be celebrated.

I was thinking of hiring two henna artists for my baby shower —*thought that would be cute. Can't believe it's banned in Louisiana! boo people had to go ruin it for you.

That is too bad that henna is banned, maybe you could still do body paint? or belly casting and then paint the cast? that would be fun.

I have never been to one (a blessing way I mean), mine will be my first so I'm still reading up on them. I definatley want to do the henna and the birthing beads. The rest remains to be seen I guess. but I've got plenty of time to plan.
