I get acid reflux and heart burn at night and right after I take my DHA caplet. At night, try keeping water and saltines next to your bed (unsalted saltines that is). Its helped me WONDERS!!!!

That stinks. I've been lucky with that so far. For m/s I have taken some capsules called "Mommy's Bliss" that have somethat have helped some, and they have some specifically for heartburn, too.

My poor SIL had horrible heartburn through most of her pregnancy...... but the bright side is that she DID have a baby with the most hair I have EVER seen so..... heartburn or no I am hoping for a kid with Hair!!! Particularly if it's a girl!!!

Hope it either goes away or you get a kid with lots of hair out of it!

I've been having some heartburn too, which I've never had to deal with before. The antacids now live on my nightstand.

I've read on other forums that Tums is a class C drug. I've never been able to track down a website with authority that confirms that. I just have a serious issue with taking something that is basically chalk. Not to mention, they taste disgusting. I took them a lot in college and had a doctor caution me on taking in too much calcium. He was concerned that the calcium might settle in places it didn't belong. I've never found any study on whether or not it can lead to calcification of the placenta, but I've seen the rationale used. Anyway, this rambling is leading to an alternative antacid treatment. My Dr in college suggested papaya enzyme. You can find it in the vitamin section and they taste way better than tums without the chalky aftertaste. My OB said it was okay to use while pregnant.
