I had my 2nd appt. yesterday. Baby's heartrate is 155. Everything looks good. I've gained a lbs a week so that's good to hear too. Then they took a huge amount of blood to check testerone levels and I'm sure a few more cuz there were 5 vials.

Doctor just wants to make sure because I was in the processes of finding out if I have congenetial adrenal hyperplasia when I found out I am pregnant. Either that or I might have a-typical PCOS. So I'm suppose to go to the high risk doctors 2 appts from now just to see if I should have baby tested for CAH. I'm not worried just a little dumbfounded that the OB is choosing to have me meet with the high risk docs.

Anywho, hubby's been gone for 2 weeks on Annual Training (National Guard) so I'm glad to have him home

Glad everything looks good and the doctors are happy. At least with the high risk doctors you will be well looked after. Glad to hear Hubby is home to be with you also!

If this is the 1st bloodwork you have had done, that is a normal amount. They actually took 6 vials from me. I asked the bloodwork tech girl why they need so much and she said they check all sorts of things with it, and each test needs the blood in a different state. One test needs the blood at room temp, another refrigerated, another mixed with some solution, etc. She said if all the tests required the blood in the same state they would probably only need 1 or 2 of the big vials.

I heard baby's heartbeat for the 1st time today and it was 158, so looks like we are both doing good there!

Glad that your appointment went well and your hubby is home!!! It is probably a good thing that your doc is being proactive and having you meet the high risk docs just in case, rather than waiting for trouble to arise!
