I am now 13 weeks and 1 day. My doc has not had me get my NT scan. Everything I have read says that you should have it before 14 weeks. My next appointment isn't until i am 15 weeks. Is this something I should worry about? I am however going to call my doc about it.

I'm pretty sure it is MOST accurate between 12 and 14 weeks. So yes I would ring your doc and voice your concern. 15 weeks seems a little late for an NT. I'm no expert though! I wouldn't 'worry' about it but yeah, definitely ring doc and question it.

I would defiitely ask the doctor about that one. There is a small time frame in which the NT scan should be performed, and 15 weeks should be too late.

I would call and ask. The only reason I got my tests was because I kept asking. DH and I dont have a family history of any medical disorders but I wanted to get them just because...

This is what my doc and the ultrasound facility both told me, I would give the doc a call anyway and just ask

Where do you live? They might not even offer it? I live in Canada and it is not offered or suggested...instead we get blood work (called a triple screen) which tests for similar things but obviously not all the same things. I am on #3 and have NEVER even heard of an NT scan at 12 weeks nor has anyone I know....it's just not something that is done here I assume???? I could be wrong but who knows! HAHA

I wasn't offered it either and I live in New Brunswick. I do have the blood work though.

I'm from Canada too, and I wasn't offered an NT scan. I happened to have an ultrasound at 12w2d and since she wasn't certified to do an NT scan we didn't, I asked. She said it looked normal though. In 7 pregnancies I have never had one done.

If you want the test call your doc, if you don't then don't worry about it, they can't make you do anything you don't want to do.
