Heck no. I eat it cold. Hot lunch meat is nasty.

Poll posted... I was thinking about what you said when we were talking yesterday. I am sitting here enjoying a nice ham sandwich and the meat is not heated. I was wondering if anyone really does that...

If I make the sandwich at home I will heat it up and then let it cool back down before eating it. If I get an already made sandwich at the deli I will not take it apart and heat it up.

From what I read about it, once it cools down again, the listeria comes back, so you have to eat it hot.

That being said, I'm a cold lunchmeat sandwich eater.

Well then screw that. I'm not going to even bother because I don't want hot lunchmeat.

Unless your house is contaminated with listeria it shouldn't come back because heating it will kill it. That said, I eat lunch meat cold if I have it.

I sometimes do when I'm making grilled cheese!! I like using cheese, meat and sliced tomato.. it helps to melt the cheese (a habit I've always had though) otherwise, if it's a cold sandwich, no, don't bother.

Im not a big sandwich eater, but when I do eat them I dont heat up the meat. That grosses me out. I also do tomato in my grilled cheese sandwiches too except I dont put any lunch meat.

I have avoided lunch meat since I got pregnant, but have had cold cut subs 2 or 3 times, and each time I ate it cold (who wants hot lettuce and tomatoes?!).

If I am eating at Subway I get it toasted. Does that count?

If at home I just eat it cold.

I haven't eaten any sandwiches since getting prego...Don't want anything to harm me or baby. Why risk it, it's only 40 weeks.

I haven't eaten any sandwiches, either, though I really want to! As soon as I can, I'm going to eat the biggest turkey sub I can find!!

I don't know why I'm so adamant about not eating lunch meat. There are plenty of other foods they say to stay away from that I don't really pay any attention to. For some reason I can't bring myself to do it, though.

I am not a big lunch meat eater. It's not something we buy. The only time I get it is when we go to subway or something. Unless I order a toasted sub my lunch meat is not heated and if I were to ever make a sandwich at home I would not bother heating the meat.

I don't eat lunch meat so its not an issue.. but I did have cooked sushi last night and I would not eat it raw and if I did eat lunch meat it would probably be heated first and then allowed to cool before I ate it..

Shoot...I voted for the wrong one. I voted sometimes, and I'm a nope never. I don't know how I picked the wrong one. My doctor says everything in moderation and she is more concerned with presevatives than listeria. I was losing weight at the begining of this pregnancy and she was more concerned with me eating what I craved...and I craved lunch meat sandwhiches cold.
