Well. Ds9 had strep last week. Got him treated.
Today I get tested due to soar throat. I have it now and so does his grama and my dh.

Great.

We get dd5 and bs9 back today and get sd8.
Sd8 has a million lice eggs and her hair is a mike long.
Her mom treated her Sunday but they apparently got worse since then.
I saw one bug crawling in dd5's forehead and freaked.
Our trip to the fair was promptly cancelled and I run to Kroger for treatment.

8 hours later I'm going to bed. Still have clothes to wash and stuff to heat in the dryer.

I combed the girls heads for about 2 hours but sd8 still has a bunch of eggs.
Dd5 actually only had that ONE in her which I'm assuming got on her from sd8.
Poor sd8 is just having to go through so much combing.
So anyway we all treated our hair and washed all bed clothes. Sprayed etc.
But I used rid. Now I read that rid doesn't kill eggs.
Nix does. Wth?
I have a bottle of nix so I'm planning to do her hair again in the morning and then let vinegar sit on it to help detach the eggs.

Why didn't I google all that first?!?

Wow what a day! I don't know too much about lice either. I wouldn't even know where to start. I do know that strep sucks! And I feel for you having to deal with all of that when you should just be hanging out on the couch waiting for the drugs to kick in. Hope the next treatment gets rid of all the lice and you can just put it all behind you

I work at a school I always see lice at least 2 times a year the easiest way to get rid of them is to dye your hair it kills everything hope this helps. I have even seen parents dye their kids hair the same color to get rid of them, I am glad i never brought them home, good luck hope it works out quickly for you.

Wow, sorry to hear. Lice are getting harder and harder to treat. The "shampoo" is very toxic to both child and lice. It acts as neurotoxin, and quite honestly usually does not work anyway.

Some natural ways is to smother the lice with mayonnaise, olive oil, or vaseline left in over night under a shower cap or something of the sort. I'm not sure if that works, but people say it does. One would of course still have to comb out the eggs

Health food stores sometimes make natural shampoos, which contain strong smelling oils that the lice don't like. I think teatree oil is one of them.

Not fun. I had strep this last winter and had a temp of 104. You probably already know this but don't let your temp get above 102.

Hope you feel better soon!

So. I checked dd5's hair agaIn last night. Found 2 eggs.
Whereas I had thought she only had the one adult bug.
I called my ex last night and told him I'd need to treat dd5 this morning w nix since it kills eggs. Assuming they understood she wouldn't be at church with them.

They roll up to pick her up at 8 am. (per our parenting plan).
He gets all ticked bc I'm not sending her to church.
Um. Really? You want to send our daughter to church with live lice eggs so she can spread them there and get them back next week?
GOD he is such an I idiot!!!
