I am definitely hungrier than normal. Last night, DH was shocked that I was still hungry after a burger, baked potato and green beans. And I wasn't just kind of hungry, I was really hungry. He just couldn't understand how that was possibly. Funny enough, my "What To Expect When You're Expecting" phone app talks about this very thing during this week of pregnancy. I thought I would share:

Remember when you were so queasy you could barely stomach ginger ale and a cracker? Happily, your toilet-hugging days (and nights) are probably over. And happily (and hungrily) these days it's more likely that you can't get enough to eat. For most women, the second trimester not only brings relief from morning sickness, but also brings on a truck driver's appetite. Don't be surprised if you suddenly feel hungry enough to polish off a 24-ounce porterhouse, a three-pound lobster (with lots of butter), or a whole tray of baked ziti. And was that you who turned that extra large pizza into a personal pan?

What's turning you into a one-woman demolition derby at the buffet? What has you outeating your spouse (and often, eating food off his plate?) Simple — you're taking signals from your baby, who's getting bigger and hungrier. Just a few sensible words of advice, however, as you interpret those signals: Though it may be a relief to enjoy food again after three months of queasies (and aversions), you may want to proceed to the dinner table with caution. Keep in mind that no matter how big or hungry your baby is, eating for two should never be taken literally during pregnancy; if it is, you'll end up looking like two…of you. Now's a good time to play weight gain catch-up if you didn't gain enough (or even lost) weight during the first trimester. But if you find your weight gain is getting ahead of itself, you may want to reel your appetite in just a tad. Remember, too, as you're diving fork-first into that second plateful of pasta, that there's no better time than now to foster the optimal eating habits during pregnancy that will fuel the growth of your healthy baby.

Yeah, I devoured the salad bar at Ryan's (I asked my doctor about listeria & she said that as long as I avoid soft cheeses, the risk almost isn't even there) at about 6:30 last night. The darn thing came up at 6am today. It was awful!! I didn't have a chance to pee first, as I barely even made it to the bathroom & it just kept coming for like 10 minutes. So, I had to take a shower (at least from the waist down) and I just feel awful today. =[

So, I'm going to keep a tighter leash on my growing appetite from now on.

Incredibly hungry! I find myself planning what I want to eat at my next meal before I'm even finished with the current one!

I don't think I'm any hungrier than normal. I find my eyes are still bigger than my stomach. I feel like I can eat a horse until the first few bites.

I'm much hungrier than before, but I still fill up fairly easily. I like to eat every two hours, but I find if I over eat I wont want to eat again for the greater part of the day.

OMG yes! My appetite is ridiculous. I can't eat much in one sitting but I eat SO frequently. I even have to get up twice at night to eat bc my stomach is in knots!

I've been in shock at how much I'm eating. SO is really pleased because I never have been a big eater and often skip meals all together. Oh no, those days are far behind. Baby is just growing overtime! Already 8oz at 17.5 weeks (measuring ahead)!

Starving! I need to keep more healthy easy to eat things around so I'm not snacking on cookies and ice cream so much.

I go through phases, and it seems that when I get really hungry, all of a sudden my stomach pops out more! Then is slows down again until the baby's next big growth spurt...lol

There are times when I HAVE to eat something at 3 am or else I can't go back to sleep!! Those are the worst.

Yes! I feel like it's just happened in the past 2 weeks and I've gained almost 3 pounds in the past 2 weeks as well. Ha!

I'm not hungry at all. I never ate much pre-pregnancy and it seems to carry on even now. I've had a bit of a hard time gaining weight. It IS kind of nice though- just that much less to lose after baby gets here.

My appetite is increased since week 4 or 5!!! I've been eating at least 500 extra calories since. I have breakfast in the morning, and find myself eating eating my lunch at work in front of my computer at around 10:30! By 12:00, my lunch box is empty and I have to go to the store to get extra food to last till 5pm. This is a nightmare for me.
