I am off Progesterone!!! Honestly when I saw that number pop up on the caller ID my heart hit the floor because I was so used to bad news. The nurse said it about 8 times so it must be true right? After spending 3-4 days a week for the last 15 weeks in the doctors office I have no idea what I will do now that I only have to go every couple weeks. Just this morning I drove to the doctors office on "auto pilot" on my way to my sons daycare and thought how pathetic is it that I have auto pilot that leads me here.

I feel like this pregnancy has been an emotional roller coaster for me and I am ready to just enjoy the rest of it without quite so much worry. I am hoping that now I will be able to let myself bond with Atticus as so far while I am overjoyed to be pregnant I would not allow myself to get attached to him out of fear. Thanks for listening to me whine about shots in the past and now I will only freak out about the side effects of progesterone for another 19 weeks 3 days (or however long it takes him to arrive.)

Congrats!! I start my weekly progesterone shots on Friday. What are the possible side effects? I asked my doctor but she really talked around it and didn't end up answering my question

Well for me they multiplied all the normal pregnancy stuff and made it more intense. The dreams were the worse. They also messed with my moods I was more irritable after shots and often more depressed. The host of the High Risk board only had them once a weeks and she said they would make her moody for a couple days where as mine was all the time because I was on a really high dose and 3 times a week.

I got off of them because I was on them for threatened miscarriage not preterm labor. I started them at 5 weeks because my levels were too low to sustain a pregnancy until about 3 weeks ago my body was making no progesterone on its own so I kept having to get the amounts raised just to meet the minimum needed. They were doing labs on me once a week to check my levels and they finally started to rise 3 weeks ago so they started weaning me my levels are above minimum still when I was on the lowest dosage for a week so now I am making it on my own and should be fine. I will still be seen more then a regular pregnancy by the doctor but hopefully no more shots. My poor hips are covered in lumps and bruises lol.
