I know its early but would anyone be intereded in doing like a board baby shower. We could do it like a secret santa...

I would be willing to host it and put everything together if enough girls wanted to participate. I did this on a wedding board I was on and it worked out great and was alot of fun to see what everyone got each other.

We could even set a limit of like $20 or what ever yall feel would be good. We can take a poll...

Let me know your thoughts!!

Ohhh sounds awesome! I heard about this being done before and thought it was awesome! I'd be keen. $20 US is about $15 here in N.Z I think so that sounds like a good value to me

It sounds fun, but we are all so different - I don't think I'd know what to get anyone unless they posted a link to their registry. If I were going to buy something, I'd want to be sure it was something they really wanted.

For example, with my Amazon registry, there's an option to mail items directly to my house, so that would be a way for ladies to receive gifts without having to give out their addresses. And would eliminate having to pack/ship the gift yourself.

I'd love to, we did this in my son's DDC, and still do each year :-)

I think the shipping price would be spendy going to some places like NZ.

about the shipping. Maybe keep the exchanges to our own countries?

I like the idea as well. =) Would one person be in charge of all the addresses? I wouldn't want to post mine for everyone to see.

I would definitely participate. We have done them in other ddc's and they were a lot of fun. As far as our differing tastes, we could give some brief suggestions/guidelines for our person to follow. That seemed to work well in the past. The host would generally gathef all of the addresses and distribute them to the person who draws your name only.

I think this is a great idea. We did it in Mason's PR and it was so much fun.

Sounds like fun! And I've shipped things to other countries and it's not as expensive as you think, especially if it's light. I agree with discussing what we like/need/want. Then again if we just pay attention, I'm sure we could be creative and figure it out.

I would be interested! I don't mind shipping to another country. Before DH moved to the US, I shipped TONS of packages to the UK on a regular basis.

yeah shipping from N.Z to USA isn't cheap but it's doable I wouldn't mind having to send to USA or Canada or UK.
Also you get more 'bang for ya buck' in the USA Of course this is an advantage to me! haha

I hope we do it! Also I think (and this is JUST my opinion) that a complete surprise is nice, like being given a gift that is not necessarily something you NEED but more a cool novelty or something you WOULDN'T buy yourself?? But we can all discuss that if we decide to do this.

That's a good point. I can agree that getting a gift you wouldn't have thought to get for yourself is always fun! Like an Itzbeen, or something.

I'm in I don't care if I have to ship out of the country. I like the element of surprise as long as everyone spends the allotted amount on the gift, or I don't mind shopping off someones registry.
