This is comfort food for me! My mom made this for us a lot as a kid and we all loved it! My kids hate boxed Mac n cheese but love this! It's so yummy!

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1(15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (8 oz) pkg macaroni
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese

Cook ground beef with onion and green pepper until beef is browned. Drain off fat. Add tomato sauce, salt, oregano and pepper. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook macaroni. Drain.
Combine meat mixture with macaroni, cottage cheese, and half the cheddar. Turn into greased 2 1/2 quart casserole dish.
Bake in 350 degree oven about 30 min or until bubbly. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Return to oven about 3 min or until cheese is melted.
