Had my first Appt today and it went great! The US was awesome b/c he did a transvag which was really detailed. My dr took alot of time checking to make sure there was only one so obviously he was concerned too bc he's never done that before. I saw my little bean all stretched out with his legs straight out and moving his arms all over!! It was awesome! The heartbeat was good and strong but he didn't check rate. My placenta is posterior directly in the center apparently which was GREAT news b/c he said if it was anywhere near my previous scar then I had a 50% chance of needing a hysterectomy! Scared me good until he saw it was out of the way! I start lovenox, baby aspirin, and Neevo w/ DHA tomorrow. I know I said I probably wouldn't , but after seeing my sweet baby wiggling all over I know it's my job to do everything I can to keep him safe!

Oh, forgot to put that I'll have my NT scan in 3 wks and I'm almost measuring directly on at 9 wks 2 days! I'm 9 wks 1 day today.

Congratulations! It it so wonderful to see the baby on the screen for the first time. I am also a Louisiana girl. I work with NeevoDHA. It is special in that it contains active L-methylfolate as an alternative to synthetic folic acid. L-methylfolate is 7 times more bioavailable than folic acid. It increases blood folate levels and decreases folate levels more effectively than folic acid and also bypasses the MTHFR mutation.

I hope the rest of your pregnancy is happy and healthy. Best of luck!

Yeah for a great appt and ultrasound. It's so sweet to get to see baby on ultrasound and makes it so much more real.

WOW, I've been on regular Neevo b4 but not the DHA one. Thank you for the information. I never really understood the reasoning behind me needing the special supplement instead of just regular folic acid. I have both the MTHFR mutation and Factor IV Leiden hence the Lovenox, so I just basically have to shovel vitamins/supplements all pregnancy never completely understanding the chemistry behind them. Downside is they are HUGE horsepills... !!

I know what you mean. I always had a difficult time with the horsepills during pregnancy. Neevo is known to be well-tolerated so hopefully you won't have a problem. It is really the very best thing you can take if you have the MTHFR polymorphism. You do not properly metabolize folic acid and you cannot be sure you are getting enough. L-methylfolate bypasses the mutation. I also think it is a very good sign that your doctor has prescribed it for you. It means he is taking your MTHFR very seriously and that is often the biggest hurdle women with MTHFR have to face.

I hope you pregnancy is happy and healthy! The baby is already adorable!
