I was at work and we had just had some yummy Thanksgiving food, I was sitting at my desk and felt something leak (sorry TMI), but just figured it was CM like I have been having. Well, about an hour later I went to the bathroom and it was blood! When I sat down to go, I had a gush and there was what looked like tissue and bright red blood. I was totally freaked out and called the doc. They called me back and asked if it was like yesterday, umm, I didn't have any yesterday, I think she must have seen that I had had an u/s (this was a nurse for a different doc) and assumed that is what I had it for. Anyways, when I told her no, she said ok, the doctor wants you to have an emergency u/s, scheduling will call you back. Scheduling called me back and said they want you to head down now, fill your bladder on the way - I was already working on that Anyways, I got the u/s after having to empty my bladder a little before she could start because it was very uncomfortable. She did the external (without letting me see the screen and didn't say anything), this was at the hospital. Then she said, ok, you can empty your bladder and then we will do an internal, which I thought was a bad sign, because yesterday I didn't need that. Well, she did the internal and said, sit in the waiting room and your doc will call you with the results. We sat and sat (with DD, because no one was available to watch her - she was so bored). The u/s tech saw we were still there after an hour and called and seh said, it was read an hour ago, but they can't get in touch with your doc, they are trying again. So, we sat for another half hour and she said, let me take your cell number, so you can leave and the doc can call you. After she said that, she said just so you know, everything looked fine, it looked the same as from yesterday (she must have seen the info from yesterday). She said, it isn't fair that you have to wait, she said I can't give you results, but it looked good. AS we were leaving someone came in and said we finally got in touch with your doc, her pager wasn't working. she wants you to know that everything looks fine. So, we waited for an hour and a half for her to say that...she didn't give me any info (not my doc btw, someone else from the practice). I am gonna call my doc on Monday and see if there were any indications of where the bleeding is coming from. OK, I wrote a book, but if you made it this far, everything looks good!!

Thank Goodness!!! I was scared for a second reading it! That's good news! Did they say anything about the position of the placenta? I bled alot w/ one of my pregnancies and it was b/c of a partial previa.

They didn't tell me anything except that it looks good, I was so mad the doc didn't call me, I wish my doc had been on call. I know she would have either called me herself or given the messenger more info. I don't even know if I should be doing anything special this weekend to avoid further bleeding. With DD, I bled a ton and it turned out to be a clot near my cervix, so I am wondering if that is the same that happened this time, although that would be strange. They may not have any answers as to the bleed, but it would haev been nice for someone to say, hey, we didn't see a reason, take it easy or call on Monday to schedule a follow up or whatever...I am calling Monday to talk to MY doc to see if she can give me any information.

How scary! I'm glad that everything is just fine! Hopefully you'll get some insight soon as to where the bleeding was coming from.

I went though something simliar and everything was fine I think it was from irritation from an ultrasound and DD. I wish doctors didn't scare us like that and they never give you an asnwer as to why it happend. I had to search online and read posts from other moms here to even get the idea of cervix irritation etc. The doctors want to assume it can be a miscarriage but there's other reasons for it too that they don't tell you. >:/ Im glad everything is good for you!!

Mine wasn't irritation, the u/s I had had the day before was external, so that wasn't the cause and no BDing, so that wasn't it. I am guessing just regular bleeding and that is how my body goes along with pg...I guess I need a little scare...not! Because I have had m/c's previously, I think they were being cautious and allowing me to see that everything is fine, although I didn't get to see anything

Oh my goodness! I am so glad everything turned out okay. How terrible making you wait so long. At least the u/s tech had a heart and gave you some relief. Let us know what you find out from your doctor today.
