Since being pregnant, are you making meal plans for the week and sticking to it or are you waiting until dinnertime and trying to think of something that sounds good?


Before I was pregnant I made a 2 week meal plan and did a pretty good job of sticking to it. Now I never know what I'll be able to eat so I usually end up waiting until late afternoon to think of something. This has unfortunately caused us to eat a lot of meals out or eat things at home that aren't as healthy and planned out as I would like. I'm hoping over the next few weeks I'll start feeling better and I can get back to my meal planning! Last night I actually cooked dinner and made dessert! DH was impressed! lol

I'm in the same boat as you. Trying so hard to get better because DH is gaining weight and I dont want kids that arent even mine living off MAC and cheese and fast food. Id feel bad.

I'm doing the same thing I do when not pg. I semi-plan meals, but I always have a few things in the house that go together quickly if we're in a rush. Last night's meal was totally not planned though. I made a spaghetti dinner for my best friend who just had a baby and with the leftover pasta that didn't make it into the dish I just tossed it with some olive oil and parmesan cheese.....paired it with some veggies we had in the fridge and called it dinner for my family. Everyone loved it.

This is the first week in a long time that I've meal planned. DH actually helped since he's home and was planning on doing most of the cooking. He ended up taking the girls out of the house for 3 hours yesterday to give me a break, so I cooked dinner and could actually eat it. That was a first since my m/s kicked in.

I don't meal plan like most people. I usually go to the store, see what's on sale and what veggies/fruit is cheapest. Then I plan meals around that while I'm there. I tend to spend more money if I meal plan ahead of time.

I don't meal plan either. When I get home from work I think about what sounds good at the moment. I pick out the meat first and then put sides with it according to what it is.

I use to meal plan but since getting pg we eat out WAY too much! I just can't cook and with DHs schedule it is hard for him to help me cook much. I have cooked 2 big meals that gave us leftovers. But now tonight we have family fun night so will go out again and tomorrow we will run errands and eat out. Its just a round cycle.

I am sitting here trying to plan my next 2 weeks with what I have in the house already too because I have bought the stuff and never made it!

I am just like you! I have a hard time deciding what I want for dinner days before. Barely know what I want an hour before dinner. So we just wing a lot of our meals.

I just sort of throw together whatever I think I can stomach.
Sadly, that hasn't included ANY meats. So we've been supplementing with spinach and lots of fruit for now.
We did have meat sauce with dinner last night.. does that count?
So right now it's all winging it. What I can each changes hourly, so planning any more than an hour in advance would be a bad idea.
