I check in now and then, but just don't have the energy to sit here. I find it rather amusing in a sarcastic kind of way that my Dr tells me to get a flu shot. I ask the pharmacy if my insurance covers it (nope) so have to wait until pay day to get it... I come down with the flu 2 days later. What good would a shot have done me anyway? Low fever, chills, body aches, sinus congestion, and now this cough that keeps me up all night. My body hurts from coughing. Getting some mucinex today now that I found out I can take it. Apparently my little bean is okay even with me being sick. I worry... and freak... but since my pants don't fit comfortably anymore (in just the last 2 days!) it's growing just fine
Have the day off from work today so I am just going to rest and drink tons of fluids and snatch what sleep I can. Hope you all avoid this bug that's going around as it's bad! Oh, and of course I'm reading The Stand at the same time... AT least I can reassure myself I don't have THAT flu!

The flu shot doesn't contain the live vaccine, so can't give you the flu (flu mist does however, but a small dose), however, the vaccine only contains the most prevalent strain from last year, the H1N1 and one other strain that they find to be the most common, so you can still get a different strain of the flu or another virus that mimics it. Just an FYI
You are probably good with the shot, because getting the flu is just as good as the shot, you will now have the antibodies to fight it anyways, sorry it had to come down to that, but you don't have to get the shot now, some money saved right - silver lining?! Hope you feel better soon!!
We don't do flu shots here, and I rarely get the flu. But I know many people who get the shot and get the flu almost every year. I think its a shot in the dark. But I hope you feel better soon. Being sick while pregnant is the worst!!
