As I was laying awake at 3am this morning (because who needs sleep, right?) I had this thought pop in my head.

I know that our theme hasn't exactly been decided yet, although there are certainly front runners. I was thinking, maybe we could have a theme that doesn't really have anything to do with July? I had two themes that really stuck in my head.

A Dr. Seuss theme:

Welcome to Seusville!
Our little Whos
We could call our private room the Bumble-Tub Club
The Shape of Me could be our baby bump subforum where we post pictures.
etc.

or

A Nursery Rhyme theme:
Jacks and Jills
Old Mother Hubbard's Cupboard (could be a recipe forum)
Pop Goes the Weasel could be our birth stories
Little Piggys Pictures could be ultrasound photos

So.. what are your thoughts? These could be totally lame. You can tell me, I won't mind I just thought I would pass on my ideas in case some others would like them! and please, feel free to add your own ideas, thoughts, themes, etc!!

I know the March 2012 DDC has a Seuss theme. It would feel like we were stealing from them if we used it, too.

Oh, I agree! I didn't know they had that theme, so I completely understand. I too think it would be unthoughtful of us to use their theme.

Feel free to come up with more suggestions I'm not sure if anyone has a nursery rhyme theme, but there are many, many other themes out there that are yet to be thought of! I just liked the idea of it not really being July or summer specific, since a lot of those themes are already taken.

I do like the idea of doing something different than the typical firecracker/watermelon thing.

I really don't care LOL......I like firefly though so I am sticking with that personally. Dr Seuss is rad but yeah that would be lame to copy although I am sure people have done it before the March group as well.

I think its silly to worry about what other DDC are doing, but it seems that's a huge concern with everyone else, and I'm not a Dr. Suess fan anyway, sooooo... lol I love nursery rhym theme with the cow jumped over the moon and such. DD#2 had that as her crib theme.
