I just spent the last 28 hours at the hospital. Went into to the dr yesterday morning because of heart palpitations and pain in my left side. She wanted me admitted for 24 hours of observations and tests to make sure everything is ok.

I ended up on IVs for 26 hours, got two large doses of antibiotics (apparently I still am fighting an infection of some sort), an EKG, and echocardiogram, and a whole lotta boring time spent in the hospital. The baby was happy they only monitored him for about 30 minutes and he was happy as lark the whole time.

They did determine my heart palpitations are NOT related to a defect or any actual problem with my heart or blood flow to the heart. So that's a relief. I do have to take antibiotics for 3 more days and go back in a week, but at least the pregnancy itself is progressing well, even if my body isn't holding up the best lol!

But I'm home at last! Missed the kiddos like heck and have to go back to work tomorrow.

Oh no!
I'm glad that everything is okay!
Do they know what could be causing the palpitations? Could it be the infection?

They said the palpitations are more than likely just from increased blood flow to the baby. BUT they are treating the infection very aggressively too to make sure thats not making it worse.

glad to hear all is well! I had my heart thump really crazy at the beginning of the pregnancy but it went away on its own.
