This is kind of an odd question, but an email from 1800 flowers just got me thinking. I'd MUCH prefer people not bring gifts to the hospital. We had so much stuff just from being there. If someone sent flowers i'd be dreading having to take them home...and forget about balloons!! What is your feeling on gifts in the hospital??

I want flowers! We live so close that I could send presents home as I received them. Not an issue this time. First time would have been a hassle since it was an hour drive to the hospital.

Flowers are fine but I don't expect them honestly. Me and d will be at the birth center for about 12 hours and only some family will be there. Not to concerned about that honestly.

I really don't like getting flowers! haha they just irritate my nose. Balloons are cool. I remember it was absolutely annoying having to cart all the flowers and gifts home last time, it's low on your priority really, and who has time to keep them from dying when you are busy with a newborn and sleep deprived! hahah Just my opinion.

I haven't thought about it too much. My hospital has a spa attached to it where they come to your room for the treatments. I've already put it in hubby's head that I want flowers for my push present, but I'd be more then happy to take a massage. Well, as much as they can massage a lady that just gave birth anyway. The only hospital visitors we will have are my parents, and I don't expect them to bring anything but the stuff that I've forgotten to pack because I can't seem to find the ambition to get my stuff together ahead of time.

I don't really mind getting gifts. DH always buys me a dozen roses after the baby gets here. I probably will not receive much else since nobody is able to come. If I do get balloons or cards, I will save them for the baby's scrapbook.

personally i hate balloons, I got a mothers day balloon with DS because I had him like the day before or something. I did get an enourmous basket of fresh italian cookies though and that was amazing, from a bakery in boston that is to die for, every nurse was my best friend I told them to help themselves because I didnt want to cart it home!

I don't really expect gifts. My showers won't be too far in advance of the birth and so everyone will have already gotten gifts. I wouldn't mind flowers, but the only person who might think of it is my momma and she'll be there with me. It's ok though. I'm really just excited for baby to be here.

I am sure we will get flowers...which i hate. They are just a giant burden..they look pretty for two minutes and then they die. If we do get flowers I may just take the vases home and chuck them or give them to friends to be honest.

nobody's ever brought anything bigger than a stuffed animal or vase of flowers, so i'm fine with that. i love having stuffed animals that were given to them on the very day they were born.
