I had my 20 week ultrasound this past thursday. Baby was anything but cooperative. However, what images they did get, they were able to see all organs, measure baby...measuring right on track. heartrate was 164bpm. Baby would not uncover it's face with it's hands, so I get to go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound hoping baby is a little less modest.

Anyway, from the pictures they did get, "they think" it's a girl! We got all our ultrasound pics on a CD, so I quickly came home and compared them with my sons ultrasound picks from when I was 20 weeks with him....definitely looks like a girl, but I will get confirmation at my next appointment in 4 weeks when I again have an ultrasound.

They also said I have a low placenta at this time. Doesn't surprise me. I had the same thing with Jack. It was low until the end, but offered no complications. She said that it looks like it might have implanted on my c-section scar. I am planning on having another C-section this time around...so they said they aren't concerned. However, it does mean I will get the joy of another ultrasound late pregnancy around 33 weeks

And last....my 3 year old son has already named his baby sister. When asked what we should call her, he said "Princess!" So, until baby is born...she will be called Princess. We aren't sharing the name with family until baby is here.

I think it sounds like a girl. I've always heard that girls are more likely to hide the goods and boys tend to enjoy putting on a show. It was true for me, both my boys were immediately known, but it took a few minutes to find out for sure on this one (baby girl).
