I know it's probably not healthy, but I've been feeling so sick I haven't been eating regularly. I'm scared and since this is my first child I'm trying to do everything right, but this exhaustion and nausea isn't going away. I'm afraid my grades will slip and I've been sleeping all day. Any suggestions? Not to mention my prenatals make me feel so much worse.

Your body will steal nutrients from you own stores to give the baby, so that's not a huge concern. I'd try taking the prenatals at night before you go to bed. Have you told your doctor? They can give you meds like zofran to help.

It gets better in the 2nd trimester, usually...

I have my first appt on Thursday. So I could tell him then, yes. And I'll try taking them at night as well, hopefully that will work. Thank you!

I am sorry you are feeling so sick Just try to stay hydrated and if you can eat some chicken soup, crackers, toast, just something so that you keep some nutrients in your body. I hope things get better for you soon!

First, don't beat yourself up. And know that this WILL end. Once the first trimester is over, you will feel human again. You don't have to eat much in the first trimester. Just eat what you can. You won't harm your baby. And I've never been able to take prenatals in the first trimester. My doc has me take kids flintstones + folic acid supplements until I can stomach the others. The first trimester is hard, especially the first time around, but you and baby will do just fine. Hang in there. Have you researched morning sickness remedies? Try them, some of them may work for you.
An experienced mom!
